Description This is an asset appraisal role requiring a high degree of proficiency in analyzing quantitative data and business performance to produce inventory appraisal reports for clients in our commercial & industrial sector. This role will be based in NY, with regular travel required to our office on Long Island. The Senior Analyst applies business knowledge and experience to build valuation models of inventory assets, conducts and applies research to determine client industry position and financial performance, and communicates the final appraisal results in narrative documents. The Senior Analyst will interact with other appraisers, sales staff, clients, and others in all applicable offices and may train and oversee the projects of other Analysts. Provide full analytical support for on-going and new valuations, which includes due diligence, analysis, and data collection to ensure the accuracy of supplied information. Handle multiple projects from start to finish, independently, and with the support of a team. Conduct back-up exhibit calls with companies to ensure Gordon Brothers has not miss-interpreted any information that was provided. Analyze key performance metrics and prepare values along with rationale for sign-off. Communicate directly with bank clients and appraised companies to understand company-provided information and its business and operational challenges. Research industrial/commercial client information or other client market sectors, as assigned. Develop a qualitative understanding of nuances that may affect asset values, and review findings with company management and clients. Conduct solo job inspections and/or client meetings as needed. Ensure the production of the highest quality product, while exceeding client expectations with respect to professionalism and expediency. Provide s Work in accordance with established methodology and utilize standard models and templates with direction. Maintain Gordon Brothers’ Appraisal Application database to ensure accurate and timely contact, company, and recovery information. Participate in travel, job inspections, and/or client meetings with a senior-level Appraiser. This will include taking photographs of assets and providing notes or dictation. Provide additional analysis support as requested by management. Become proficient in and adhere to USPAP standards, particularly as they apply to inventory valuations. Education, Experience Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, economics or related area of study required. Minimum 4-5 years’ prior experience preferred. Prior experience in a retail, manufacturing, distribution, audit, financial, lending, or consulting environment preferred. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Advanced proficiency with MS Word and Excel, including pivot tables and advanced functions and formulas. Comprehensive understanding of financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets; understanding of inventory and other asset accounting methodologies is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. A high degree of integrity and business acumen. Demonstrated analytical, presentation, and project management skills are desired. Use of problem-solving capabilities to look in-depth at information pertaining to a job is required. Comprehensive understanding of financial statements is essential, including allocation of overhead expenses. In addition, in-depth understanding of inventory and other asset accounting methodologies is preferred. Ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment handling multiple projects is essential. Periodic travel of up to 25% may be required.
