GoPath Laboratories is Hiring a Laboratory Assistant Near Buffalo, IL

LABORATORY ASSISTANT

GoPath Laboratories is seeking an individual who is organized, accountable, reliable, dedicated, and motivated to join our team as a full-time Lab Aide at the Buffalo Grove Laboratory. GoPath Laboratories, LLC is a physician-owned pathology diagnostic facility with primary focus on cancer diagnosis. Our customers are mostly physicians and their staff. The Lab Assistant is responsible for handling an array of duties including, but not limited to, assisting histotechnologists with daily duties, grossing, embedding, filing slides and general paperwork and other duties as assigned. The schedule for this position will be Monday – Friday (8:30am – 5pm) and occasional Saturday as needed.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Receiving and processing samples.
  • Preparing test samples using laboratory equipment including urine and body fluids
  • Performing laboratory testing and preparing and maintaining accurate lab records
  • Labeling specimens and distributing them to appropriate departments
  • Performing quality control as directed by the Laboratory Manager
  • Cleaning and maintaining the work area as well as all lab equipment and supplies

Requirements

  • Must have minimum of high school degree or equivalent.
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a science field like chemistry, biology or biotechnology or a minimum of 2 years of experience in clinical laboratory preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft windows and office
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Experience working with lab equipment
  • Ability to keep detailed records

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
