Goodwill SC is Hiring a CDS-SCSEP Team Lead - 575300 Near Anderson, SC

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: To oversee the operations of the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) and the activities of the SCSEP staff in specified region. To encourage and promote a mutual associate/customer relationship which enhances the profitability of Goodwill Industries. To establish positive relationships with organizations, businesses, and individuals to successfully implement Goodwill’s mission services. To coordinate with the Career Development Services Staff to establish and implement appropriate services for the clientele of Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina, Inc. (GIUMSC). SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Provide supervision of GIUMSC SCSEP staff in designated area. 2. Coordinates and conducts local SCSEP site activities to recruit, conduct intakes/orientations, and place program participants in training services, including Host Agency acquisitions, orientations, assessments, and partnerships. 3. Assist in coordinating and compiling SCSEP activities on a weekly, monthly and quarterly for required analysis and transaction by the SCSEP Programs Manager to the US Department of Labor and other program partners. 4. Work with the SCSEP Programs Manager to address and resolve performance or personnel issues with Service Coordinators and/or Data and Accounting Specialist, to complete disciplinary actions and reviews, and to maintain personnel files for SCSEP staff. 5. Assist with coverage for regional Service Coordinators as needed. 6. Interpret and explain regulations, rules, policies and procedures to participants and community partners. 7. Facilitate local team meetings with SCSEP staff for professional development and necessary communications. 8. Provide guidance and assistance to SCSEP staff in achieving assigned goals. 9. Conduct outreach and recruitment activities and promote programs within the community, and work closely with area partners to ensure participation. 10. Maintain knowledge of local resources and offerings in order to effectively assist participants with potential supportive services outside of GIUMSC. 11. Act as a liaison between GIUMSC, community partners, and referral sources, including local and state government agencies, human service organizations, churches, non-profits, etc. 12. Cultivate relationships with employers in order to find viable job opportunities for participants, and to educate businesses on all programs and services available through GIUMSC. 13. Enter all necessary data into database regarding people served, services provided, and job placements in timely fashion. 14. Manage and coordinate site activities, programs, schedules, and facilities, including partner agency offerings on-site as needed. 15. Assist SCSEP Programs Manager with collection and collaboration of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports. 16. Maintain awareness of local job market, and employment trends, and opportunities. 17. Maintain confidentiality of all records and files concerning the position. 18. Assist in following through with program evaluation, reporting, accountability, and communicating Career Development Services activities. 19. Achieve organizational and departmental goals in regards to people served, placed, average wage and hours, in addition to any other objectives set forth as necessary. 20. Perform all other duties as may be assigned.Education: Bachelor’s Degree in field of Human Services, Education, Liberal Arts or other related field required. Work Experience: Prior experience in Human Services, Education, Workforce Development, and/or Customer Service strongly preferred. Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Internet. • Excellent written and oral communication skills. • Ability to manage multiple assignments and tasks, set priorities, and adapt to changing conditions and work assignments. • Multi-cultural sensitivity – demonstrate a sensitivity and awareness of diversities in people and cultures. • Knowledge of community, educational and vocational resources. • Ability to build rapport and work as a team, within the Career Development Services department, the Goodwill organization as a whole, and with outside partner agencies. • Must have a valid South Carolina Driver’s License with limited points. • Bilingual (English/Spanish) , a plus. Physical Requirements: Daily requirements may include climbing, balancing, reaching, talking, hearing, seeing, standing, stooping, kneeling, handling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling. May be exposed to dust and odors. May be required to do limited work outdoors. Safety & Security: Responsible for following all safety, security, and money handling procedures, as directed by Goodwill policy.Work Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday – Friday, or whatever hours are required to meet the professional requirements of the job. Work Attire: Casual business attire; however, professional business attire when appropriate. Dress is to be reflective of Goodwill’s positive image in the community. Each associate is expected to present a fashionable, neat, and clean appearance at all times.
