Goodwill of Delaware & Delaware County is Hiring a Family Resource Specialist - Social Worker / Case Manager Near Wilmington, DE

POSITION PURPOSE:
The Family Resource Specialist (FRS) is a key member of Goodwill of Delaware & Delaware County’s workforce development team. The FRS is responsible for providing comprehensive case management services to individuals who are experiencing barriers to employment. The FRS supports individuals to become economically self-sufficient by removing barriers to long-term workforce attachment through case management and financial coaching. The FRS actively participates in initiatives that showcase the positive impact of Goodwill’s workforce development programs and ensures that all position responsibilities are carried out in a manner that support Goodwill’s mission and make a positive difference in the community. This position serves as a member of the Management Support Team.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am to 4:30pm
Pay Rate: $21.00 an hour

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Conducts comprehensive assessments to determine participant needs and barriers to self-sufficiency.
  • Provides individual case management services at least twice per month to support participants in achieving self-sufficiency.
  • Provides individual financial coaching to support participants in increasing income, improving credit, and establishing savings.
  • Offers job readiness counselling to support successful job attainment and retention.
  • Connects participants to employment, training, and/or educational opportunities, both internally and externally, to support career pathway goals.
  • Connects participants to community resources for barrier remediation and support services.
  • Contributes to retention of employment through ongoing career counseling/coaching and follow-up services.
  • Works cooperatively with community partners, funders, and natural supports to develop appropriate service plans for persons served.
  • Promotes self-reliance and self-sufficiency of persons served through the development of individualized service plans that are based on vocational interest, skills, strengths, and assessed needs.
  • Works cooperatively with internal Goodwill business units to establish supportive environments and inclusion standards for persons served.
  • Works cooperatively with all internal and external stakeholders to provide quality service and ensure maximum participant satisfaction.
  • Provides Goodwill team members with support services offered through the Family Strengthening program.
  • Maintains case records, written reports, and ongoing communication with referring organizations, regulatory agencies, and community partners.
  • Documents all services provided and enters relevant data into CaseWorthy, and other required data systems in a timely manner.
  • Ensures the accuracy and integrity of all data entered in various data systems.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of all sensitive information including but not limited to program information.
  • Achieves exceptional program outcomes based on established quality standards and those set by funders.
  • Serves as a role model for job readiness and professional work environment behaviors.
  • Assists the organization in maintaining compliance with appropriate standards, including those established by CARF, as well as with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Works to advance the organization’s mission and achieves departmental goals for persons served, placed, and trained, in addition to any other objectives set forth as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, or other related field, and at least one year of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
SKILLS/ABILITIES
  • Familiarity with case management principles and techniques.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs or comparable programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including interviewing skills.
  • Ability to empathize and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse constituent population.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time-management skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes in priorities based on participant needs.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential data.
  • Ability to think critical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work evenings or weekends and to travel, as needed.
