Warehouse Specialist II
Department: Transportation/Warehouse
Supervisor: Warehouse Supervisor
BASIC FUNCTION
To perform a variety of warehouse duties and responsibilities to ensure the consistent flow and accurate documenting of materials throughout the donated goods and retail division. Duties vary and warehouse specialists may be assigned to assist drivers, work within warehouse/workshops, handle baling duties, and move materials with forklifts along with utilizing hand and other power equipment while keeping accurate records both with manual sheets and/or WMS scanning equipment.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete understanding of safe forklift operations to include, but not be limited to:
Pre-shift inspection of forklift; mechanical awareness; constant demonstration of safety awareness within busy warehouse environment; post shift inspection of forklift.
Performs general dock operation to include, but not be limited to:
Loading and unloading trucks using forklifts and other power equipment; being able to follow load sequence for outbound trailers and knowing how to properly disperse inbound materials; keeping dock area free and clear of all furniture, bags, etc. for safe maneuvering of equipment; keeping accurate records detailing material movement using both WMS and/or manual tracking; understand and ensure proper loading procedures to ensure load stability and weight distribution; accurately completes truck manifests and load diagrams.
Daily performs the following duties to include, but not be limited to:
Police the property; pick up trash around the building and grass areas; empty trash; sweep dock area; weed grounds around facility; snow and ice removal; outside maintenance and lawn care.
Assists the baler operation to include, but not be limited to:
Weighs and stores bales; records necessary information; maintaining supplies; removes all bale bins from processing and take to baler; return all containers to the proper place in the processing department. May move salvage materials and load onto trucks.
May be assigned to lead team on special assignments as required.
Assists the Loss Prevention department in asset protection activities.
Presents an appropriate appearance and good customer service to the general public and coworkers.
Maintains an awareness of safety precautions and techniques and performs all duties in a safe manner.
Communicates progress, concerns and issues to Warehouse Supervisor in a timely manner.
