Part-time & Full-Time

The Opelika Retail Store is currently looking for hard-working and dedicated Retail Associates.

Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers, Inc.’s Retail Associates Responsibilities:

• Ensures that each guest receives outstanding customer service.
• Assists customers with purchases and pricing.
• Operates the cash register system and applies basic math skills including, but not limited to, basic addition and subtraction of money.
• Understands item pricing and “color of the week”.
• Maintains the sales floor and dressing room appearance by organizing shelves, putting away carts, returning merchandise from the dressing room back to the sales floor.
• Asks customers to “Round-Up” totals in support of our mission and/or scholarship programs.
• Meets or exceeds daily retail store goals.
• Stocks the store shelves in a neat and orderly manner
• Identifies quality donations. Ensure donations are priced, processed, and transported to the sales floor in a timely manner.
• Works other areas of the store as requested by the leadership team.

You will be hired as a Retail Associate, however, you will be cross-trained and expected to learn and work all areas of the retail operation.

A part-time position averages 20-25 hours, and full-time averages 32-40 hours per week. Hours will fluctuate based on business needs (i.e., seasonal changes, donation volumes, etc.) Operating days will fluctuate based on the store location. The Retail Associate – Cashier must be available to work any shifts Monday through Sunday.

Requirements:

• Prior experience in a retail environment may be considered in lieu of education.
• Basic math skills.
• Prior experience working in a retail or customer service-related environment, preferred.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Warehouse experience preferred.
