Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin is Hiring a Mold Setup Operator Near Des Plaines, IL

Goodwill TalentBridge is actively recruiting for a Mold Setup Repair Technician on 2nd shift in the Des Plaines, IL area! This position is responsible for installing/removing injection molds and tooling and performing changes as needed for production. This is a direct-hire role! SCHEDULE & PAY RATE:
  • 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday 2:30 PM-11:00 PM (30 min unpaid lunch)
  • Pay: up to $25/HR based on experience
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Install/Remove Injection Molds and Tooling in machines ranging from 17 ton-400 ton.
  • Load cycles from machine memory and troubleshoot process as required.
  • Troubleshoot tooling issues and work with Plastics Personnel to resolve tooling issues.
  • Ability to read/understand tool drawings from blueprints or “electronically”.
  • Proficient use of typical shop measuring tools, and use of toolroom equipment such as surface grinders, milling machines, lathes, drill presses, band saws, various small hand tools, chain hoists, and hydraulic hand trucks.
  • Knowledge of injection molding and materials and their characteristics pertaining to processing, mold set-up procedures and auxiliary processing equipment.
  • Function independently with minimal supervision
  • Understand and follow the current Mold PM Program-Procedures. Make recommendations to prevent future tool failures.
  • Must be able to operate lift trucks and fork trucks.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and adhere to all Safety Rules.
  • Interact with supporting departments (Engineering, Department Peers, Machine Maintenance, etc.)
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma/GED required
  • 5 years of experience in the injection molding industry with repairing injection molding tooling
  • Plastic Manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Forklift experience such as Reach truck, Standup, and Sitdown forklifts
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a consistent basis
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Basic computer and keyboarding skills
  • Strong Math skills required
  • Must be able to work scheduled hours (Mon – Fri) plus overtime as required; may be required to work occasional weekends
