Overview:
The Art Instructor will assist the Art Works Supervisor with providing a person-centered planning and a safe environment for the artists by introducing and facilitating the creation of art through a variety of media, following the Art Works process, and assisting adults with disabilities with developing vocational skills while producing sellable art.

Responsibilities:

• Work hands-on with artists to motivate and stimulate creativity, innovation, and independent problem solving to help artists reach their highest potential in the art career path.
• Support progress through positive reinforcement; modeling positive employee behaviors and giving constructive feedback. Enable the artists to be as independent and self-sufficient as possible.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date progress notes.
• Instruct artists in proper care and use of tools and supplies.
• Assist in the hanging and presentation of artist’s completed artwork.
• Participate in art shows and events to promote the artists’ work.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols.
• Assists in monitoring program standards in compliance with CARF standards, recipient’s rights, CMH, and Goodwill policies and procedures.
• Assist with customers in the store front, greeting customers, making sales, and being responsible for monies collected.
• Participate in artist’s person-centered planning meetings.
• Completes other duties as assigned.

Pay: $14.55 per hour

Expected hours: 29 per week
