JOB TITLE: Shop Goodwill Listing/Photography Clerk

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

MISSION OF GOODWILL

Goodwill Industries of Northwest Ohio, Inc. is a nonprofit, 501c3 corporation whose mission is to assist individuals with barriers to employment become self-sufficient through employment training and opportunities. Since 1933 we have assisted thousands of individuals throughout Northwest Ohio to become economically independent.

JOB SUMMARY ShopGoodwill.com was the first non-profit e-commerce auction website, developed back in 1999. With over 52 individual Goodwill districts participating in the website, this allows Goodwill’s from all over the country to gain support their programs in order to help their local communities. Our Shopgoodwill dept. sorts through collectables, high end clothing, and more; photos and lists the items for sale online using our Shopgoodwill platform. In turn making these items available to customers from all over the country. They then ship and provide customer service and claims resolution.

SPECIFIC DUTIES FOR THIS POSITION: RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Listing:

· Posting / Listing determined number of items per day. Daily goal will be given upon hire.

· Answers Customer Emails in a timely manner, providing more information on the item if needed.

· List the item on the site in accordance with posting guidelines.

· Misspelled words must be kept to a minimum.

· Proper and appropriate grammar must be used with every post.

· Measurements of items must be accurate and detailed

· Must use time wisely to meet the listing benchmarks.

· Must have great time management skills.

· Perform other duties as assigned by Shop Goodwill Manager.

· Must have knowledge or experience locating items online via Search Engines that may be difficult to determine the purpose/intended function or describe.

· Prior knowledge or interest in collectables/antiques is a plus

· Must maintain their inventory shelves, ensuring no items are on the floor/falling off shelves/and are easily locatable with item tag on the item (without adhering the sticker to the item itself.)

Photography:

· Take and edit at minimum of four photos of each item

· Ensure quality photos by carefully taking pictures of maker’s marks, damage, and detail areas.

· Save finished photos in batches on USB zip drives as directed by manager.

· Keep the photo station clean, tidy and safe.

· Keep the bins full of photographed materials organized reducing damage as directed by manager.

· Ensure fragile materials are adequately protected during storage.

· Make sure items are sorted and grouped together into “lots” as directed by the manager.

· Ensure that all items in bin for photography are photoed/edited and rotated to the proper orientation and on the drive prior to turning in.

· Alert manager to any problems that may arise or which my prevent quotas from being met.

· Perform other duties as assigned by Shop Goodwill Manager.

· Maintain work area by keeping it clean and free of debris at all times. Work areas must be maintained according to the posted schematics. “Stashes” of merchandise are expressly prohibited. The only time an employee may shop, or make a purchase is when the employee does not work in their store that day. They may however, shop at any other store location at any other time. Shopping and/or making a purchase is permitted on the sales floor only and is strictly prohibited in the production room.

· Report any unauthorized shopping, purchasing or “stashing” of merchandise or requests of the aforementioned immediately to your supervisor. Failure to do so will result in disciplinary action.

· List any items on shopgoodwill auction site as directed by manager.

REGULAR DUTIES:

· Understand and implement Agency mission.

· Train employees and/or clients when assigned.

· Assure compliance with Agency policies.

· Represent the Agency to outside groups/businesses.

· Maintain records and files.

· Promote a spirit of teamwork.

· Effectively and productively manage time.

· Maintain an acceptable quantity and quality of work.

· Attend meetings and training programs as directed.

· Perform any and all duties deemed necessary by the Agency.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A. Education and Experience:

1. High School Diploma.

2. Experience in packing helpful but not necessary.

3. Basic computer knowledge.

4. Customer service skills.

5. Good organizational skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $11.00 per hour
