Re-Entry Career Coach
Goodwill Industries is looking for a passionate Career Coach interested in assisting individuals reentering society from the criminal justice system with the goal of obtaining and retaining employment.
The position is largely in the community and requires travel to multiple sites, so a car is required (mileage is reimbursed).
This is a full-time position paying $21.00 an hour.
The Re-Entry Career Coach will:
· Assist people, many on parole or probation, address and resolve barriers to living a productive and crime-free life.
· Complete a thorough intake with the participants consisting of getting to know them, learning about their needs, and setting goals.
· Document all interactions via case notes in participant tracking system.
· Provide job preparation skills, which may include career exploration, enrollment in education, as well as job seeking skills.
· Help program participants create new habits to replace behaviors that are not serving them in a positive way, providing support and motivation, and accountability.
· Develop relationships with employers to create job placement opportunities for program participants.
· Provide one year of retention support after placement.

Requirements
A bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in criminal justice. The ideal candidate will be trauma-informed, have experience working with people who have been involved with the justice system or are at-risk of it, and coaching experience. A strong knowledge of work readiness/life skills is desired. We are also looking for someone who can work independently, is a good team player, and who has a good rapport with people who may be distrustful of the system. The ideal candidate will have good organizational skills and excellent communications skills. Most of all, the candidate we choose must be passionate about 2nd chances and working with people who may have a multitude of barriers beyond their criminal record. Candidates with lived experience are encouraged to apply if they meet the above criteria and have been off supervision for at least two years.
