Job Objective:

The Production Associate for our Building Trades and Woodworking business specializing in building yard sheds, chicken coops, green houses, and other small wooden products, will be responsible for the production process from raw materials to final assembly. This role requires efficient coordination, resource management, and quality control to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products, meeting company standards and customer satisfaction. This position reports to the CraftED Production Manager who evaluates performance annually, in collaboration with the Director of Operations.

Essential Job Functions:

• Knows and understands the Goodwill Mission: Strengthen communities by empowering individuals and families through education, training and job placement.
• Collaborate with the assembly team to fulfill daily production orders.
• Operate chop saws, table saws, CNC machines, and all other shop equipment.
• Assist new employees in adapting to their roles.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the production area.
• Enhance production processes for efficiency, waste reduction, and product quality improvement.
• Assist with troubleshooting to resolve any production issues that may arise, minimizing downtime.
• Work with design and engineering teams to optimize product design.
• Uphold health and safety regulations in the production environment.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education and Experience:

• Previous experience in woodworking production preferred.
• Basic knowledge of woodworking techniques, materials, and production processes are beneficial.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the production floor for extended periods.
• Capable of lifting and moving heavy wooden components and equipment as needed.
• Dexterity to manipulate woodworking tools, machinery, and small components.
• Comfortable with various woodworking equipment, including saws, routers, and drills.
• Basic knowledge of measuring tools like speed squares, levels, and tape measures.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety goggles, gloves, and ear protection.
• Forklift operation.

• Occasional lifting of heavy materials and tools may be required.
