Summary The Volunteer Coordinator is a full-time position that oversees and manages the Crayons to Classrooms (C2C) volunteer program. This position is the primary point of contact for all volunteers and is responsible for all communication and interactions between volunteers and C2C. Essential Duties & Responsibilities As a member of the C2C staff, the Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for the following:Manages and supervises all volunteers and organizes volunteer activities.Oversee volunteers during teacher shopping. Participates in staff meetings convened by the Executive Director.Successful interaction with the Program Manager, Classroom Solutions Program Coordinator, Marketing Coordinator and Volunteers. Participates in an annual performance development plan to review progress in the position as required by the Executive Director. Key Position Responsibilities:The Volunteer Coordinator provides ongoing communications with core volunteers as well as corporate and community volunteers. Recruit, train, coordinate and recognize C2C Volunteers. Manages all communication and outreach to current and potential new volunteers. Attends and presents at local volunteer fairs and recruiting events. Develops volunteer job descriptions in cooperation with the Program Manager. Train, manage and support new and returning store and classroom solutions volunteers.Support the Store Manager by advising store volunteers as needed. Maintain and grow our volunteer base. Organize and host volunteer appreciation events. Communicates with volunteer and community groups in effort to educate and create a higher profile for C2C. Coordinate volunteer activities with corporate and community groups. Line of Communication and Accountability:The Volunteer Coordinator reports to the Program Manager. He/she is the primary C2C contact for all volunteers. He/she works closely with the Program Manager and Classroom Solutions Coordinator to manage volunteer and Classroom Solutions project needs. The Volunteer Coordinator is the primary C2C contact person during teacher shopping. Supervisory Responsibilities None Education Requirements A BA or BS in a related field, including marketing, volunteer management, non-profit management, education, or business administration is preferred. Experience Requirements One to three years’ experience in business or education is highly desirable. Experience in non-profit management or a community service setting preferred. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Skills & Abilities Qualification Requirements:Strong organizational and planning skillsEffective interpersonal skills and customer relationsKnowledge of customer service including handling customer complaints and resolving disputesWritten and verbal communications skillsDemonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and WordTechnology skills related to spreadsheet development, data analysis, and technical presentations Comfortable working with Outlook and Google DriveDatabase experience a plusAbility to learn quickly and take initiative with limited direction Performance Standards - Evaluation/Review Process The success of the Volunteer Coordinator will be judged against the following performance standards:Meet volunteer recruitment goals.Meet Classroom Solution production goals. Meet volunteer hours goals. Evaluation/Review Process:The Volunteer Coordinator participates in an annual performance development plan reviewing his/her goals with the Program Manager on an annual basis.
