JOB SUMMARY: Coordinate and perform duties related to company-wide Information systems, including computer and communications systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Process, document, and follow through with requests from Goodwill Central Coast staff, for technology-related issues; troubleshoot problem resolution.
Provide work direction and technical guidance to other I.T. Department Staff.
Provide support and training on various systems as needed.
Provide end user desktop and workstation back-up and e-mail support and assist in its delivery.
Serve as technical advisor to all departments, on hardware and software selections and
upgrades.
Assist, and provide input to, the Director in the delegation of I.T. work, (including outside vendor selection, nature of work to be delegated to vendors, and monitoring of vendor performance/work completion).
Interface with outside vendors for the support of all information and communication technology.
Perform information systems maintenance according to defined administrative procedures; maintain documentation of system technology in place or in development.
Provide general network server administration and maintain server and user backups.
Ensure network-network (LAN/WAN) connectivity providing general network troubleshooting.
Ensure the efficiency and security of IT infrastructure; assist in achieving IT organizational goals within the scope of the Strategic Technology Plan.
Strive to streamline, and provide efficiency for all computer and communication-related functions and their operability.
Ensure that IT policies and procedures approved by Senior Staff and the Board of Directors are implemented and followed as to internet usage, e-mail usage, end-user computing, security, and virus control.
Maintain libraries, depots and storage for all software and hardware.
Maintain documentation and inventory logs of hardware, software, and end users to be able to identify problems.
Assist in the implementation of hardware and software, computer and network communi-cation solutions; make recommendations to improve technological adaptations and aid in the evaluation of such changes by senior management and the board of directors.
Assist in the management of and future use of LANs, WANs, VPNs, Email, and Voice/Data interchange, VoIP and networking devices and systems as appropriate.
Recommend upgrades, patches and new applications and equipment
Assist in the development of present and future Technology Plans.
Provide end user desktop and workstation back-up and e-mail support and assist in its delivery.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
EDUCATION REQUIRED: Associate Degree in an IT-related field or equivalent.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQ’D Valid California Class C driver’s license.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Three years progressively responsible IT experience, including experience in network administration with some programming and software proficiencies.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: Familiarity and working knowledge of current version of windows server.
Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures in the IT field.
Thorough understanding of Microsoft Office products and software applications.
Thorough knowledge of networking and software applications.
Thorough knowledge of computer hardware.
Familiarity with Goodwill Central Coast’s mission, general Company policies and procedures (this may be learned on-the-job).
EQUIPMENT USED: Typical office equipment; vehicles.

Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
Ability to interface effectively with employees and the public.
Ability to adapt to situations and understand other’s feelings and personal viewpoints.
Ability to accept responsibility for the direction and completion of an activity. Must be a self-starter and capable of working with minimum supervision.
Ability to work in an organized manner, handle multiple tasks, prioritize projects and meet deadlines.
Ability to drive a vehicle in the transaction of company business. This requires a good driving record and may require the ability to provide evidence of personal vehicle liability insurance.
Ability to adhere to safe work practices as documented in Company safety policies; ability to report safety hazards/accidents promptly to supervisor or safety committee member.
EMOTIONAL EFFORT:
The job requires occasional short deadlines requiring occasional overtime. The work environment is occasionally hectic with occasional high activity.
JOB SETTING
Work can be performed in any of Goodwill Central Coast’s tri-county locations, with flexibility for some remote or hybrid work as appropriate. There can, on occasion, be exposure to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.).
