Job Summary

The Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Associate is responsible for all aspects of accounts payable and accounts receivable. This includes ensuring accurate and timely payment to vendors, accurate billing, and revenue recognition for rental income and salvage activities. The associate also provides superior service and support to the organization’s management and staff. This position requires understanding of the full accounts payable and receivable cycles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Full cycle accounts payable processing.

Responsible for purchase order process to include the monitoring of expense coding to ensure expenses are accurate.

Review invoices & match with purchase orders for proper approvals and coding, quantities and dollar amounts.

Enter vendor invoices into accounting system and generate payments by due dates. Update monthly recurring expenses and generate payments.

Respond to vendor inquiries and research invoice and payment discrepancies.

Assist with accounts payable accruals, account reconciliations and other month-end duties.

Process accounts receivable transactions ensuring proper support to recognize revenue.

Responsible for preparing 1099 tax forms.

Full cycle accounts receivable processing.

Create billings for specified customers.

Match payments to accounts receivable balances ensuring all invoices are paid timely and accurately.

Review AP and AR aging reports weekly to ensure all aged invoices are current and report all unresolved issues.

Log and track DGR Daily Cash Receipts and miscellaneous incoming wires/payments.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Education Required: High School diploma or equivalent is required.

License/Certification Required: Valid California Class C drivers license and proof of insurance.

Experience Required: Minimum two years of experience processing high volume accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Knowledge Required: Knowledge of standard accounts payable procedures, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and basic double-entry accounting.

Prior experience with Sage INTACCT is a plus.

Familiarity with Goodwill Central Coast’s mission and general company policies/procedures (this may be learned on-the-job).

Equipment Used: Typical office equipment.

Ability to drive a vehicle to occasionally attend trainings or other company business. This may require proof of personal vehicle liability insurance.
