Position Available: Principal
GOOD SHEPHERD CATHOLIC SCHOOL, located in Perryville, Maryland, seeks qualified applicants for the position of PRINCIPAL beginning July 1, 2024. The parish school, which was founded in 1957, develops successful students with the support of the entire community. Our mission is to help students reach their maximum academic and personal potential in a safe and nurturing environment leading them to be people of faith through study and service. Good Shepherd’s enrollment is just under 80 students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8. The school, which is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, has 16 faculty and staff to minister to the students and an active Family-School Organization. Good Shepherd Catholic School has advanced technological hardware and software implemented for teachers and students. Standardized test scores reflect the high academic standards held for students. In nurturing the whole child, the school provides a faith-filled, student-centered, service-oriented environment. Principal candidates must possess excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate well with various constituencies. They must also value the significance of presence at school, parish, and community events.
The successful candidate must meet the following criteria:
live as a practicing Catholic
hold an advanced degree (Master’s or higher) from an accredited institution in an area of study that supports the role/responsibilities of the principal
hold or be eligible for Delaware or Maryland licensing/certification (Catholic Theology or Ministry degree is exempt from this requirement)
have minimum of five years teaching at the appropriate grade level (Catholic school experience as a teacher/administrator preferred)
