GOOD NIGHT PEDIATRICS is Hiring a Short-term PTR Near Avondale, AZ
Radiology Techs We are seeking a temporary full-time PTRs for our Avondale, Arizona clinic. Responsibilities include taking x-rays and back office duties.
We have a non-standard work week as we are open 365 nights a year. Typically, 8 -hour shift to include holidays and weekends. We strive to have a rotating schedule to allow every other weekend off.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
Supports the mission, vision, and values of Good Night Pediatrics by demonstration of consistent excellent customer service.
Establishes and maintains a work environment that is efficient, safe, and responsive to the needs of the patients, physicians and staff.
Records and maintains patient data/treatment records and prepare reports as necessary.
Maintains security and confidentiality of patient information in accordance with federal and state law.
Uses electronic tools to complete job duties as assigned i.e. computer software programs, internet-based programs, scanners, etc.
Ensures timely and accurate communication to Clinic Manager and Director of Operations or designee regarding billing services and issues.
Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies, including, but not limited to state regulatory agencies, OSHA, and CLIA.
Understands and follows infection control/universal precautions in the performance of all job tasks.
Learns and complies with Good Night Pediatrics policies and procedures.
Stocks and prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment.
Cleans and sterilizes instruments.
Inventories medical supplies and materials and reports needs to the Clinic Manager.
Demonstrates the ability to provide radiology services within their scope of practice to the pediatric population.
Operates / oversees operation of radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
Uses radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of our patients, their families, and GNP staff.
Demonstrates competency in areas of general diagnostic radiography, use of digital equipment, knowledge of PACS system, positioning, immobilization, procedure preparation and technical factors.
Reviews and evaluates x-rays or computer-generated information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
Performs scheduled maintenance and minor emergency repairs on radiographic equipment.
Monitors the radiology equipment to ensure functionality at all times.
Explains procedures and observes patients to ensure their safety and comfort during exam.
Demonstrates the ability to provide patient care, within their scope of practice, to the pediatric population which may include obtaining patient vitals; rooming patients; taking thorough and accurate patient histories; preparing and administering injections; administering treatments including SVNs, ear lavage, removal of sutures, applying dressings, and applying splints; performing routine laboratory tests, urine dips, and glucose testing; monitoring patients’ conditions and reactions and reporting abnormal signs to the physician; and assisting physicians with procedures and urgent care situations.
Collaborates with other medical team members, such as physicians and medical assistants.
Utilizes the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to document activities such as patient schedules, required payments received for services provided, laboratory results, response to treatment, and communications with providers, patients/parents/guardians.
Performs administrative tasks, i.e. faxing, scanning, answering telephones, assisting parents/guardians with completion of registration forms.
Completes cleaning and disinfecting procedures as assigned.
Completes all assigned training in a timely manner.
Essential Job requirements
Education:
Must be a graduate from an accredited medical radiologic technology program
Licensure by the Arizona Medical Radiologic Technologist Board of Examiners, if providing services in Arizona.
Current hands-on CPR certification.
Experience:
1 year experience as a Practical Technologist in Radiology is required.
Pediatric knowledge and experience preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
Service oriented attitude is necessary; must be able to provide excellent customer service.
General knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment including Environmental Health Services, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Radiation Safety and Protection procedures.
Ability to maintain quality control standards.
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Able to efficiently prioritize tasks.
Computer experience, such ONEPACS, Experity, Microsoft Office to include Outlook and Excel.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Skilled in developing and maintaining quality assurance.
Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
Ability to deal with pediatric patients in an acute care setting.
Skilled in documenting EMR and recording test results.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills a plus
Physical Requirements:
Must have proof of current COVID, Hep B and TB vaccines
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and assist patients on and off of exam tables.
Pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and carrying are required.
Standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods of time.
