Good Earth Tools is Hiring a Shipping Technician Near Festus, MO

Shipping Technician

Good Earth Tools is looking for an energetic, detail oriented candidate to add to the fast paced Shipping Department. This position will be responsible for packaging and preparing shipments of products to send to our customers, as well as maintaining an accurate inventory of parts and products on hand.

Primary Responsibilities

Calculate weight, volume, and cost of goods to be moved
Provide shipping cost estimates for sales quotes in process
Prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, dock receipts, or certificates of origin within our E.R.P. system
Complete all appropriate documentation for international shipments
Determine transportation mode for product to be shipped
Use Starship Program software to enter UPS and FedEx orders
Receive packing lists and enter information into a computer database for inventory accuracy
Wash and finish grind product
Use sand blasting equipment
Use hydraulic presses for straightening of products
Safely operate a forklift, both sit-down and stand-up versions
Prepare and package product for flawless delivery to customers

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent is required
At least one year of prior experience in a shipping role is strongly preferred, both outbound shipping as well as receiving
Previous experience coordinating international shipping is strongly preferred.
Excellent organizational and time management skills are required
Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong attention to detail is critical
Must have the ability to work 40 hours a week as scheduled and maintain a punctual, reliable attendance record.

Physical Demands

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull, grasp, read, talk, write and hear, to perform the essential functions of this position
Must be able to safely lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds
Moderate to heavy physical effort required
The following should be expected to be encountered: long periods of standing, continuous exposure to heat and cold, noise within the plant.
