Qualifications


Summary:

Reporting to the ROC Supervisor, the ROC Operator will be a key stakeholder in driving our operations excellence. The ROC Operator will be a team player providing monitoring of day-to-day operations, communications, and reporting to internal departments and external customers of multiple power generation facilities comprising the Goldwind-monitored fleet of turbines.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Execute remote turbine commands at the direction of electrical grid operators, customers, and field staff in a time-sensitive manner
  • Follow the Fault Handling Procedures/ Remote Reset Protocol while communicating turbine start/stops, planned technician response, and corrective actions to customers and other parties in accordance with established protocols/procedures
  • Document and maintain, up to date written and electronic logs within the SCADA and electronic business systems (i.e., ROC Log, CMMS System, EOS Daily Email, Work Permit Log)
  • Document and maintain the information needed for generating TBA, EBA, and monthly reports.
  • Monitor and communicate severe weather conditions to field staff per applicable Goldwind Procedures (i.e., Lightning, Adverse Weather& Icing)
  • Generate periodic reports for both internal & external stakeholders
  • Assist in the administration of the Goldwind Americas facility in areas such as the development of and documenting operating procedures and other areas as may be necessary
  • Communicate turbines that are faulted/no communication/grid event to Site Team & Customers in a timely manner via phone, email, or Instant Messaging Platform (WhatsApp or Skype)
  • Continuous SCADA Monitoring of sites and restore SCADA services when Server communications are restored
  • Assist Site Team with data collection for faults with fault files and previous fault data as requested
  • Communicate site outages/internet loss with the customer and notify the site manager
  • Request approval of testing through local utilities for Goldwind planned outages/testing and ensure approval is communicated to the Site Team
  • The ROC is a 24/7 operation on a 12-hour shift rotation. Employees must be able to accommodate rotating shifts and weekends, overtime, and holiday work.
  • Promote and enforce a safety culture across the range of Goldwind’s employees, contractors, and subcontractors to maintain the highest quality, health, safety, and environmental performance per the Goldwind Americas Safety procedure
  • Follow Goldwind USA’s (or applicable) QHSE policies, procedures, and guidelines of the project safety plan, including safety statistics, accident reporting, and investigation, etc. to maintain proper operation
  • Focus on continuous improvement within the administration function to make programs and processes more efficient and cost-effective; Always looking for gaps in efficiency and executing optimization
  • Assisting ROC Supervisor with additional projects and tasks as requested and all other duties as assigned by manager

Required Education and or Experience:

  • High School Degree or G.E.D. required
  • 1 year of professional work experience

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and the Internet.

  • Must be a self-starter and able to work independently
  • Ability to work at back-up remote control center requires valid driver’s license and deemed insurable by company insurance providers
  • Ability to pass the assessment, drug screening, and employee background before employment and as an ongoing condition of continued employment
  • Ability to take and respond to calls with customers, field personnel, contractors, operations personnel, and engineers
