We have an excellent new position available within our Reward Finance & Accounting team for an Associate in the Human Capital Management (HCM) division.

This role will be part of the Reward Finance Function (part of broader Human Capital Management), specifically focusing on Global Benefits & Wellness teams and located in Salt Lake City. This role will require close partnership with varying colleagues throughout the firm: divisional CFOs, Accounts Payable, firmwide controllers, vendors and actuaries across the globe and will focus on areas such as the Benefits & Wellness budget, p/l cost variance, regulatory reporting, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

As a member of the Reward Finance & Accounting team, your role will focus on:

Team Management

  • Manage a team of 5 professionals and 3 contractors across regions

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Manage end to end global budgeting processes through dwata collection, validation (e.g., interpret pension GAAP expense), internal presentations to sr. mgmt., application of headcount targets, and divisional charge-out modeling
  • Partner with Global Benefits function / external vendors & actuaries to interpret financial impact of plan design changes and strategic initiatives
  • Provide meaningful ad-hoc analysis to senior managers and other stakeholders (e.g., historical per capita spend; pro forma charge-out modeling)
  • Create financial models, including forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning
  • Analyze complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes

Accounting and Control

  • Apply GAAP methods to provide accrual guidance to central accounting team for posting
  • Collaborate with accounts payable team to ensure timely payment of invoices
  • Review sub ledger transactions for appropriate expense assignment and proactively identify issues
  • Produce management reports, analysis, and forecasts, along with commentary to highlight cost drivers
  • Provide oversight to Balance sheet substantiation process ensuring accurate reporting of firms Benefits & Wellness related assets and liabilities

Reporting and Analytics

  • Historical trending and analysis of expenses and other firmwide metrics
  • Month to month fluctuation analytics
  • Actual vs. Budget reporting & analytics
  • All program reporting by division by region
  • Other ad-hoc financial analysis

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WERE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or other business related field
  • 7 years of experience in accounting, budgeting, financial planning, reporting and analysis.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel (e.g. SUMIF, IF, AND, OR functions, pivot tables, workbook management)
  • Strong accounting and quantitative / analytical skills, and attention to detail: ability to organize and analyze large datasets, detect and correct errors, interpret and report results to various audiences and take responsibility for data quality assurance
  • Strong communication skills; ability to articulate a story with data
  • Ability to identify opportunities to establish efficient and robust processes
  • Flexibility to work across multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities
  • Demonstrate client service focus and ability to build relationships across levels
  • Strong team player with experience in working with teams in different time zones
  • Relevant business experience demonstrating:
    • Successful project management and leadership within a team
    • Complex analytic project design and execution
    • Professional communication and thought-partnership with clients and stakeholders
  • Experience within a Benefits & Wellness function a plus
