Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our Direct Support Professional (DSP) team as a Shift Relief DSP, providing support for adults and children with developmental disabilities in our various group homes.
The Shift Relief DSP will provide breaks for other full-time DSPs working in the group homes, using one of our vehicles to get from house to house. They will also assist DSPs in conducting community outings with the people we serve.
Responsibilities:
- Work with our people served across all homes to provide DSPs with breaks
-Assist in taking our people served on outings and fun activities in the community
-Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, using the restroom/changing diapers, meal preparation, and medication administration
-Monitoring people served and documenting all necessary information
-Prevent, minimize and manage behavioral challenges, implementing authorized strategies learned in DSP training to ensure the safety of all people in the home
-Any other daily duties needed or assigned
Schedule:
The Shift Relief DSP will be assigned a schedule that is primarily on 2nd shift. This position will work every other weekend. There will be a specific schedule of which homes to relieve and for how long. This position must work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
Essential Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years old.
-Must have a good driving record (no Driver's License suspensions within the last 5 years, and no more that 3 driving violations and/or accidents combined within the last 3 years).
-Must have a valid Illinois or Wisconsin Driver's License.
-Must be able to pass our medication administration class that is conducted by our RN Nurse Trainers.
-Must be willing and able to train and work in all Goldie Floberg homes.
-Goldie Floberg vehicles will be used for all work activities related to relieving DSPs and conducting communtiy activities.
