Duties:

1. Perform venipunctures and skin punctures to collect blood samples for testing.
2. Verify patient identification and maintain strict patient confidentiality.
3. Ensure the comfort and safety of the patient before, during, and after the collection procedure.
4. Follow bloodborne pathogen procedures and other safety protocols to minimize potential exposure.
5. Properly label and handle specimens and send them to the appropriate lab.
6. Maintain and troubleshoot all phlebotomy equipment.
7. Educate patients on the process to help them feel more relaxed and cooperative.
8. Accurately update and maintain patient records in the healthcare system.
9. Keep track of supplies and ensure the phlebotomy station is clean and sterile.

Requirements:

1. Have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Be familiar with medical software and Microsoft Office suite.
3. Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Be able to work in high-stress environments while maintaining a high standard of performance.
5. Have physical dexterity to perform phlebotomy procedures accurately.
6. Be flexible with the working schedule, as the role might involve weekend and night shifts.
7. Age 18 years or above.
