Golden Valley Electric Association is Hiring an Environmental specialist Near Fairbanks, AK

This full-time position earns a competitive starting wage of $86,444 annually. We offer a comprehensive benefit package that includes a Defined Pension, 401(k) match, Health insurance, Life Insurance, Short- and Long-Term Disability, Annual Leave, Wellness Program (including fitness reimbursements), Tuition Reimbursements and Flexible Work Schedule.

A day in the life of an Environmental Specialist II can look like :

Use attention to detail skills to interpret and communicate permit conditions and compliance requirements to affected stakeholders within GVEA.

Provide expertise and guidance to advise and assist facilities in maintaining environmental compliance. Use communication skills to interface with regulatory agencies and GVEA staff to ensure compliance with existing and future environmental regulations, including air quality, water quality, and waste management.

Ensure that GVEA meets and exceeds regulatory compliance, reporting and recordkeeping requirements.

Eligibility

  • Bachelor's of Science (BS) degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Science field required.
  • Valid Alaska driver's license is required.
  • Six years' environmental or relevant experience.
