JOB SUMMARY: Performs inspections, tests and audits of incoming raw materials and packaging to ensure compliance with company requirements and manufacturing standards. Troubleshoots, investigates, and reacts to non-conforming raw materials and packaging.

This a great temporary position: Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Performs inspections, testing, monitoring, and auditing of incoming raw materials and packaging to quality standards.

2. Troubleshoots, investigates, and reacts to non-conforming raw materials and packaging, including product dispositions, corrective actions, and credit requests

3. Maintains electronic database housing quality records such as internal specifications and vendor documents including COA’s.

4. Develops strong working relationships with supplier contacts (Quality, Customer Service, and/or purchasing).

5. Provides technical assistance and support to Purchasing and Product Development, during vendor and/or raw material or packaging approvals.

6. Monitors aging raw material and packaging inventory and reacts accordingly: including requests for shelf-life extensions and communication with materials management.

7. Participates in the sensory evaluation of raw materials and finished products as required.

8. Performs other related duties or projects as assigned.

Education/Certification:

Bachelor’s degree in food science, chemistry, microbiology, or related field of science from an accredited college or university.

Experience:

2 to 5 years of relevant work experience, with an understanding of food safety and regulations.
