Overview

Manages day-to-day inventory levels, including inventory purchases, maintenance, and freight revenue. Supervises assigned staff to ensure GSF objectives for efficiency and productivity are met.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the daily activities of assigned staff to ensure that proper inventory levels are maintained, productivity objectives are met or exceeded, pricing data are accurately maintained, and transportation arrangements are confirmed. (30%)
• Processes and expedites purchase orders on a day-to-day basis to ensure material requirements are met. (30%)
• Coordinates with vendors, in person and by telephone, to discuss pricing and product quality, and to resolve problems (.

defective items, delivery schedule, . (20%)

• Routinely informs and communicates with employees to promote smooth operations and to ensure compliance with established inventory procedures and safety and sanitation policies and procedures. (10%)
• Investigates and monitors raw materials pricing to ensure GSF obtains fair market prices and to forecast pricing of non-commodity raw materials on a quarterly basis (5%)
• Participates in meetings and on teams to enhance internal and external communication, review and establish procedures, and evaluate effectiveness. (5%)
• Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary.

LEADERSHIP / MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY

Supervises between 2-3 hourly employees.

Qualifications

PHYSICAL AND VISUAL ACTIVITIES :

• Disassemble and re-assemble equipment in congested areas and awkward positions.
• Hose down machines, conveyors, floors, etc.
• Climb stairs and ladders.
• Ability to visually differentiate items of color, up close and in the distance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

• Ability to wear personal protective equipment and / or clothing.
• Stand / walk 8 or more hours per day.
• Constantly bend, reach, twist / turn, talk / hear and taste / smell.
• Constantly use eye / hand and eye / hand / foot coordination to use tools and operate machinery.
• Frequently squat and grip / grasp buckets, hoses and brushes.
• Frequently handle / finger and fine motor tasks to remove equipment, plastic wrap, tools and operate CIP program.
• Frequently lift less than 5 lbs from floor to overhead and carry 100 feet.
• Occasionally kneel / crawl and climb stairs / ladders.
• Occasionally lift up to 100 lbs from floor to waist.
• Occasionally carry up to 100 lbs 25 feet.
• Occasionally carry up to 50 lbs 100 feet.
• Push carts of chemicals requiring 30 lbs of force 50 feet.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.

ENVIRONMENTAL / ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS :

• Constantly work in damp, wet, humid and slippery environments.
• Constantly work near moving equipment with fumes or airborne debris.
• Constantly work with toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Constantly work in extreme heat / cold (68-80 degrees).
• Constantly work in high noise levels requiring hearing protection.
• Frequently work in high places.

Education / Certification :

Experience :

7-10 years of relevant work experience in purchasing, expediting, transportation, and logistics in an automated manufacturing environment.

Supervisory experience.
