Golden Harvest Food Bank is Hiring a Community Impact Coordinator Near Augusta, GA

Summary

The primary objective for the position of Community Impact Coordinator is to serve as the liaison between all Community Partners in the assigned service area and Golden Harvest Food Bank by assessing current partners, creating new partnerships and capacity building alongside community organizations, businesses, civic groups, local government, etc. to meet the needs of food-insecure individuals. This includes innovative acquisitions of Community Partners, reporting and regulatory compliance, and incorporating best practices to carry out the mission and values of GHFB.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

-Provides exceptional customer service internally and externally, addressing questions, resolving issues and serves as the dedicated contact for GHFB Community -Partners, businesses, government entities, schools, and civic groups

  • Responsible for maintaining partner compliance, recertification, and monitoring as well as applicable food safety standards, USDA or other regulatory requirements and assisting with all GHFB audits
  • Executes on-boarding processes for Community Partners and on-site visits; provides online ordering assistance and facilitates reporting, deliveries, and invoicing
  • Develops strategic relationships with non-traditional partners to meet identified needs within our service area by promoting food security through government programs including but not limited to GNAP and TEFAP distributions
  • Identifies, develops, and collaborates partnerships for food distributions in under-resourced communities
  • Establish, attend and/or actively participate on collective impact initiatives with clients, community service networks, and other local non-profits in our service area to remain knowledgeable and form partnerships as requested and in collaboration with Impact Programs and Health & Nutrition
  • Cross-trains with the ability to fill-in and provide additional assistance to other team members in the Community Impact Department, supporting both GA and SC
  • Remains current and knowledgeable on local, federal, and national compliance procedures and food safety with the responsibility of effectively training others with clarity and organization
  • Collaborates with other departments to administer food distributions to meet our goals
  • Coordinates the scheduling and implementation of regular, annual, and periodic training and monitoring of our Community Partners
  • Seeks opportunities to attract funding, promote products and increases collaboration efforts with our traditional and non-traditional Community Partners; shares information through Constant Contact
  • Creates reports for local, state federal and special programs as needed/directed in a timely manner
  • Develops and maintains relationships with existing and potential Community Partners along with community organizations to support the mission of GHFB
  • Promotes best practices to meet the need of food insecurity in the community and our service areas
  • Coordinates Mobile Markets within assigned service area
  • Proactively engage Community Partners with Healthy Plate Strategic focus
  • Compile and maintain data needed for accurate reports including spreadsheets and presentations
  • Track and submit required data for NAR (Feeding America)


Supervisory Responsibilities

May be responsible for the recruitment and training of community volunteers

Skills & Competencies

To perform the job successfully, an individual will demonstrate teamwork, commitment, written and verbal communication and organizational skills. The Community Impact Coordinator must be able to meet deadlines and be results oriented, working in a fast-paced environment. Must be sensitive to diverse populations and have a strong moral compass with ability to exercise good judgment and discretion. Ability to research and coordinate resources, interpret demographics and motivation to increase food-security will result in success for this critical position.

  • MS Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, Outlook Mail, PowerPoint

  • Must be professional, adaptable, flexible, and able to exhibit strong organizational, communication skills (verbal, written, and phone etiquette)

  • Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and Saturdays
  • Available to travel overnight for meetings and special events


Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of Public Administration, Human Services or related
  • Related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have high school or GED, some college preferred
  • Nonprofit experience preferred, 2 years


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Must have valid driver’s license
  • Must be ServSafe certified
