Since 2006, Goldberg and Associates has built a steadfast reputation of success in immigration law. We are growing and are looking for a passionate and driven experienced SENIOR FEDERAL LITIGATION ATTORNEY to join our FEDERAL LITIGATION TEAM.

LOCATION: 5586 Broadway Third Floor Bronx, New York 10463

Job Summary:

As a Senior Federal Litigation Attorney, you will be responsible for handling complex federal immigration cases. Your expertise in immigration law and your proven track record in federal court will be instrumental in representing our clients and achieving successful outcomes. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an attorney who is passionate about immigration law and committed to advocating for the rights of immigrants.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Manage federal litigation team which includes fed lit lawyers, paralegals and fed lit clerks
  • Lead and manage complex federal immigration litigation cases from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on federal immigration laws and regulations.
  • Develop effective case strategies and provide expert legal counsel to clients.
  • Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Represent clients in federal courts, immigration courts, and other administrative hearings.
  • Conduct depositions, examinations, and cross-examinations of witnesses.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and legal professionals to ensure cohesive case management and strategy.
  • Stay updated on changes in immigration laws and relevant federal court decisions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing clear communication and regular updates.
  • Handle legal negotiations with opposing counsel and government agencies.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    In-depth knowledge of federal immigration laws, regulations, and procedures.

    • Extensive experience representing clients in federal courts and administrative agencies.
    • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Proven track record of handling federal immigration cases in Michigan and Los Angeles.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities.
    • Fluent in English (bilingual proficiency is a plus).
    • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Gsuite or related software.

    Education and Experience:

    • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
    • Active license to practice law in the state of Michigan and California and New York.
    • Minimum of 8 years of experience practicing federal immigration law.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.Mentor and guide junior attorneys and legal staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
