Overview

Goldbelt Hawk designs, develops, and implements comprehensive solutions for problem spaces, including computer security, scalable architectures, advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and network/data center operations. Specializing in local and enterprise-level incident response and forensic analysis, Hawk's personnel deliver threat analysis and reporting while implementing solutions based on mature planning and development practices.

Summary:

We are looking for Senior System Administrator to support the Information Technology Support Services (ITSS) under the BIA. This position will assist the government with developing and implementing innovative solutions resulting in a stable and cost-effective operational environment, which must support agency systems, applications, and their underlying databases in a current state.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide comprehensive network, system, and database administration services for all NPS Enterprise Data Centers.
  • Provide IT engineering and administration.
  • Support IT security requirements across a broad spectrum of platforms and applications and facilities.
  • Provide information assurance, disaster recovery, and continuity of operations support.
  • Provide commissioning and decommissioning support for hardware appliances.
  • Provide level 1, 2, and 3 support to include troubleshooting the system related issues with the user base and developers.
  • Shall apply this knowledge in providing system administration support across all supported systems and environments including servers, databases, network devices, and storage components. The supported environments include production, disaster recovery, test, and development.
  • Shall provide support to perform the routine tasks required to support system administration requirements.
  • Create and implement scripts in an enterprise environment.
  • Manage virtual machines to include,
  • Creating, configuring, and maintaining virtual machines in a failover cluster environment
  • Automating where possible the creation and management of virtual machines.
  • Assess the new system or application requirements for security implications.
  • Perform patch management and vulnerability for physical and virtual machines and firmware updates for physical servers.
  • Perform routine backups of failover SQL cluster.
  • Perform routing storage management for failover SQL cluster.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • In-depth knowledge with cloud technology, design, implementation, and remote management.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in systems administration in configuring and tuning of systems (including Windows, Oracle, SQL, Microsoft Hyper-V, PowerShell scripting and Linux servers) for the NPS Data Centers.
  • Strong technical skills in server administration.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and vendors.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in all aspects of work.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 3 - 4 years of related experience.
  • Proven experience in systems administration, with a focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems infrastructure in a corporate or enterprise environment.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check.
  • Must be a US citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Previous experience in a senior or lead role in systems administration is preferred.

The pay range for this position is $81,036.75-$108,049.00 annually. Applications are being accepted through 5/25/2024
