Summary:

In support of an Industrial Control System Cybersecurity Initiative for a DoD client, work as a Junior Information System Security Officer (ISSO) as part of a team that supports multiple systems at multiple Air Force client sites within a region. You will serve as a junior ISSO that is part of a larger ISSM and ISSO team. You will perform identification and implementation of ways to harden enterprise-wide systems and reduce their attack surface across an Air Force network enclave. Identify new opportunities to use cybersecurity solutions to solve complex problems. Apply knowledge of Air Force Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and packages. Designate security controls and hardening on various operating systems in accordance with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of information security policies, procedures, and standards
  • Ensure regional compliance with organizational and regulatory security requirements
  • Participate in risk assessments to identify and evaluate potential security risks within the region
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement risk mitigation strategies
  • Assist in the coordination and response to security incidents within the region
  • Document incident details and contribute to post-incident reports

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of computer attack methods and system exploitations techniques
  • Ability to interact directly with senior cybersecurity analysts to identify problems, analyze data, generate solutions, and communicate results
  • Ability to design and integrate security solutions to address enterprise risks and exposure, leverage adversarial tactics to conduct hands-on security testing
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Security , or DoD IAT Level II 8140 or 8570 Certification
  • Minimum 1 years of experience at the enterprise-level developing Risk Management products and working through system accreditations
  • Experience performing responsibilities in each of the six steps of the RMF process
  • Experience developing and leading the development of Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment Authorization (A&A) documentation and body of evidence artifacts to obtain RMF Authority to Operate (ATO)
  • Experience with leading cybersecurity projects, providing senior subject matter expertise in a cyber domain, and assessing system compliance with security controls
  • Experience with working other ISSEs and ISSOs
  • Experience applying Department of Defense (DOD) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) and Air Force cybersecurity policies and requirements
  • Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree
  • DoD IAM Level III 8140 or 8570 Certification
  • 2 years of experience at the enterprise-level developing Risk Management products and working through system accreditations
  • Experience as an ISSE or ISSO
  • Experience in leading a team of RMF workers in the positions of ISSE, ISSM, ISSO, or Security Controls Assessor
  • Experience with eMASS roles, responsibilities, and workflows
  • Experience with providing configuration management (CM) for information system security software, hardware, and firmware
  • Experience with Operational Technology and Industrial Control systems a plus
