Summary:

In support of an Industrial Control System Cybersecurity Initiative for a DoD client, work as a Journeyman Information System Security Officer (ISSO) as part of a team that supports multiple systems at multiple Air Force client sites within a region. You will mentor junior ISSOs and Information System Security Engineers (ISSEs) that are part of your team. You will perform identification and implementation of ways to harden enterprise-wide systems and reduce their attack surface across an Air Force network enclave. Identify new opportunities to use cybersecurity solutions to solve complex problems. Apply knowledge of Air Force Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and packages. Review RMF work completed by Junior ISSOs and ISSEs. Designate security controls and hardening on various operating systems in accordance with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop, update, and enforce information security policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Ensure organizational compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify, assess, and prioritize security risks.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement risk mitigation strategies and controls
  • Design and deliver security awareness programs to educate employees on security best practices
  • Lead and coordinate responses to security incidents, ensuring timely and effective resolution
  • Conduct thorough post-incident analysis and implement improvements to prevent future occurrences

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proven experience as an Information Systems Security Officer or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and compliance frameworks
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Security , or DoD IAT Level II 8140 or 8570 Certification
  • 2 years of experience at the enterprise-level developing Risk Management products and working through system accreditations
  • Experience performing responsibilities in each of the six steps of the RMF process
  • Experience developing and leading the development of Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment Authorization (A&A) documentation and body of evidence artifacts to obtain RMF Authority to Operate (ATO)
  • Experience with leading cybersecurity projects, providing senior subject matter expertise in a cyber domain, and assessing system compliance with security controls
  • Experience with working other ISSEs and ISSOs
  • Experience applying Department of Defense (DOD) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) and Air Force cybersecurity policies and requirements
  • Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree
  • DoD IAM Level III 8140 or 8570 Certification
  • 4 years of experience at the enterprise-level developing Risk Management products and working through system accreditations
  • Experience as an ISSE or ISSO
  • Experience in leading a team of RMF workers in the positions of ISSE, ISSM, ISSO, or Security Controls Assessor
  • Experience with eMASS roles, responsibilities, and workflows
  • Experience with providing configuration management (CM) for information system security software, hardware, and firmware
  • Experience with Operational Technology and Industrial Control systems a plus
