Summary:

We’re looking for a Junior SOC Analyst who can serve on a team of security analysts to operate and maintain the security solutions for our customer that will stand up to even the most advanced Cyber threats.

As a Junior SOC Analyst on our project, you’ll work on a shift of with cybersecurity analysts who perform services in support of an Industrial Control System Cybersecurity Initiative for a DoD client. You’ll be utilizing the right mix of tools and techniques to secure our customer’s IT infrastructure. You will be provided mentorship from more senior analysts in performance of your work. You will operate our tools and perform our techniques. You will investigate new techniques, breaking free from the legacy model of analyst work, and go where the industry is going. You’ll think through the critical approaches to monitoring and securing networks, automating those processes, and staying up to date on the newest vulnerabilities and threats to information systems. You'll apply expertise in systems analysis, analyzing architecture design of the networks and the associated systems, technology assessment, and metrics development, provide operational support, coordinating and resolving issues with vendors and other appropriate personnel. You'll develop and apply advanced methods, theories, and research techniques to the investigation and resolution of complex project requirements and technical specifications for system development projects and plan and direct full life cycle projects or major phases of projects for highly visible technical solution programs. Your technical expertise will be vital as you help customers overcome their most difficult challenges by integrating secure practices.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Monitor security alerts and events from various sources to identify potential security incidents
  • Analyze security data and trends to detect and respond to security threats promptly
  • Assist in the investigation and resolution of security incidents, including coordinating with other teams to implement corrective actions
  • Document incident details and provide comprehensive reports for further analysis
  • Utilize security information and event management (SIEM) tools and other security technologies to monitor and analyze network traffic and system logs
  • Contribute to the tuning and optimization of security tools to improve detection capabilities

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of computer attack methods and system exploitations techniques
  • Ability to interact directly with senior cybersecurity analysts to identify problems, analyze data, generate solutions, and communicate results
  • Ability to design and integrate security solutions to address enterprise risks and exposure, leverage adversarial tactics to conduct hands-on security testing
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Security or another DoD 8140/8570 IAT II certification
  • 1 years’ experience in the following:
  • Serving on cyber threat teams to meet changing mission needs
  • Experience with cyber penetration testing and developing risk and threat mitigation plans
  • Experience with operating in Linux/Windows
  • Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AA/AS degree or higher
  • CASP or another DoD 8140/8570 IAT III certification
  • 2 years’ experience in the following:
  • Experience with cyber penetration testing and developing risk and threat mitigation plans
  • Experience with operating in Linux/Windows
  • Knowledge of computer attack methods and system exploitations techniques
  • Experience with delivery, including QA and quality control and managing or leading functional teams to meet or exceed client expectations
  • Experience serving as a cybersecurity analyst to bring solutions to meet client's evolving cyber threats
  • Experience with researching, evaluating, and developing security policies and guidance
  • Experience with operating system languages and language packs and Cybersecurity products, including anti-virus and endpoint security variants and methods
  • Knowledge of the Operational Technology (OT) and Industrial Control Systems (ICS)
