Job SummaryThe Trim Tech III oversees the trimming and manicuring processes of harvested cannabis plants to ensure compliance with quality standards and production goals. Reporting directly to the Cultivation Manager, this position is responsible for leading and coordinating trim teams, managing workflow, and maintaining productivity in a fast-paced environment. The Trim Tech III plays a critical role in ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of the trimming process while upholding the company's commitment to excellence.

Pay Range: $22 - $24/hr

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains the trim operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing operational and personnel policies and procedures as related to the trim process.
  • Supervise and coordinate trim teams to ensure timely and efficient processing of harvested cannabis plants.
  • Train new trimmers on proper trimming techniques, quality standards, and safety protocols.
  • Assign tasks and prioritize workflow to meet production targets and deadlines.
  • Manages moisture and readiness of product ready for trim.
  • Monitor trim quality and productivity, providing feedback and coaching to trimmers as needed.
  • Manage METRC tags for batches.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the trimming area, adhering to sanitation protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all SOPs, applicable laws and regulations governing cannabis processing and handling.
  • Manage inventory of all consumables.
  • Collaborate with Harvest Manager to address any quality or inventory issues related to trimming.
  • Verify and keep accurate records of trim quantities, production rates, and employee performance.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate maintenance as needed to minimize downtime.
  • Communicate effectively with management and team members to address concerns, provide updates, and ensure smooth operations.
  • Uphold a positive work environment and foster a culture of teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management to support the overall success of the cultivation operation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Prior experience in cannabis trimming or related field required.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain quality standards in a high-volume production environment.
  • Knowledge of cannabis strains, anatomy, and trimming techniques.
  • Familiarity with trimming equipment and tools, including scissors, trimming machines, and sanitation supplies.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements for cannabis processing and handling.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels of the organization.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to meet production demands.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a background check as required by state regulations.

Work Environment

  • Trim Tech III will work primarily in indoor cultivation facilities where they are exposed to various environmental conditions associated with plant cultivation.
  • May be exposed to elevated temperatures, high humidity, and artificial lighting for extended periods.
  • Use of fertilizers, nutrients and pest management solutions may expose employee to chemicals and organic substances. Proper safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), are essential to minimize exposure risks.
  • May be exposed to moderate to high level of noise as Cultivation facilities may contain equipment such as fans, pumps, and ventilation systems.

 Job Requirements

  • Work revolves around objectives, projects, and priorities, not hours; must be able to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, stand, walk, lift, sit, and bend for a majority of their work
  • Ability to use a computer and calculator for 8 hours or
  • Required to have a valid driver's license with acceptable driving Must have own transportation.
  • Must be 21 years of age or
  • Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the
  • Selected candidate will be required to complete a post offer, pre-employment background check with the local law enforcement or local Police Department.
