We are currently looking for an experienced Technical Supervisor - HVAC in Phoenix, AZ.
Technical Supervisor HVAC in Phoenix, AZ.
The Technical Supervisor is responsible for evaluating the technical training needs for their branch's field associates and working collaboratively with the Goettl Academy to deliver both classroom and in-the-field training. The Technical Supervisor is responsible for safety education and associate development leading to decreased work injures, increased skill levels, higher performance, greater client satisfaction, and an engaging employee experience. Specific focus areas include current and new-staff training, education, and development.
Essential Functions:
  • Assess employee needs : The Technical Supervisor will evaluate the current strengths and weaknesses of field associates. This could involve a variety of assessment methods such as one-on-one interactions, field assessments, tests, surveys, and manager feedback.
    • Conduct ongoing assessments and utilize feedback from management and supervisors on technical competencies to facilitate training opportunities.
  • Implement training plans: The Technical Supervisor will deliver technical curriculum to ensure employees overcome any current weaknesses, learn additional skills, and continue professional development with the overarching goal of keeping the company competitive and efficient.
    • Based on assessments, deliver training modules on the following:
      • Safety
      • Technical competency
      • Goettl-specific operations and procedures
      • Professional appearance; proper uniform, personal grooming, dress code
      • Provide in-the-field continuous training and development
o Create and implement a comprehensive learning path for employee advancement.
  • Evaluate results of Training : Upon completion of each training module, the Technical Supervisor is required to assess the employee's performance levels to ensure the employees adequately learned the desired lessons and skills. This includes making sure the employees are always complying with regulations and standards, as well as evaluating the training program.
  • Stay up to date with the ever-growing knowledge of our services and the industry : The Technical Supervisor will stay abreast of new innovations in the industry as well as current and new building codes and compliance issues.
  • Conduct in-the Field training : When not in the classroom or assessing associate technical competencies, the Technical Supervisor will be in the field meeting with associates as agreed upon with the Operations and General management team.
  • Lead branch safety initiatives : The Technical Supervisor will be the primary safety professional responsible for providing monthly or as needed safety training to all field associates.

Requirements

  • 5 years' HVAC technical background and experience.
  • Understanding of traditional and modern training methods; workshops, simulations, e-learning, coaching, mentoring, etc.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Computer literate with capability in email, MS Office and related business tools.
  • Highly organized with effective time management skills.
  • Strong decision-making and problem- solving skills.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • 7 years' HVAC technical experience.
  • Superior knowledge and understanding of traditional and modern training methods; workshops, simulations, e-learning, coaching, mentoring, etc.
  • Collaborative approach to individual and team learning.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Physical Demands : Prolonged periods of standing, bending, kneeling, and walking. Requires the use of hands for grasping and fine manipulations. Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30 pounds. Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes, toxic chemicals, and gases inside and outside.
