Laser Fab Operator - 1st Shift or 2nd Shift (4-10hrs)

1st shift position: 5am-3pm or 6am-4pm (Mon-Thur) _ Overtime as needed.

2nd Shift position - Monday thru Thursday - 3pm -1am, may require overtime hours beyond normal shift or on Fridays, when needed. Hourly wage plus an additional $2/hr. shift differential.

Summary for Laser Operator:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Laser Operator to join our team on either the 1st shift or 2nd shift. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating laser cutting machines to accurately complete assigned tasks. The Laser Operator will work closely with the production team to meet production goals and ensure high-quality finished products. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, experience in metal fabrication, and exceptional attention to detail.

Responsibilities for Laser Operator:

• Set up and calibrate laser cutting machines according to job specifications
• Load and unload materials into the laser cutting machines
• Operate laser machines to cut and/or mark materials accurately and efficiently
• Monitor laser machine operation to ensure the quality of the finished products
• Inspect finished products for any defects or imperfections and make necessary adjustments
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or errors that may arise during the laser cutting process
• Maintain the cleanliness and maintenance of laser machines and work area
• Follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times to ensure a safe work environment
• Collaborate with the production team to meet daily production goals and deadlines
• Document and record job information, including material used, production time, and any challenges faced

Preferences desired for a Laser Operator:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience operating laser cutting and engraving machines preferred
• Strong attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination
• Ability to read and interpret job specifications and blueprints
• Knowledge of laser machine settings and parameters
• Basic understanding of materials used in laser cutting
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues or errors that may arise during operation
• Good organizational and time management skills to meet production deadlines
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 pounds) and stand for long periods
• Willingness to cross train between the laser and brake press areas
• Forklift experience
