Job Type: Fulltime, School Year Contract Opportunity
Pay: $45/Hour
We are seeking a dedicated and qualified School Psychologist to join our educational team in Topeka, Kansas. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of students within our school district. As a School Psychologist, you will collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. This position requires a strong understanding of psychological principles, excellent communication skills, and a passion for promoting the overall success of students.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Conduct psychological assessments to evaluate students' academic and behavioral strengths and challenges.
  • Interpret assessment results and provide recommendations to educators and parents for appropriate interventions.

Counseling and Intervention:

  • Provide individual and group counseling to students facing academic, behavioral, or emotional challenges.
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement evidence-based interventions and support strategies.

Consultation:

  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to address the needs of students.
  • Offer guidance on creating positive and inclusive learning environments for all students.

Crisis Intervention:

  • Assist in crisis intervention and prevention activities.
  • Provide support to students and staff in times of emotional or behavioral crisis.

Collaboration and Professional Development:

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other professionals to develop and implement school-wide programs.
  • Stay current with research and best practices in school psychology through ongoing professional development.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, interventions, and consultations.
  • Generate reports for Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and other relevant documentation.

    Qualifications:

    • Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
    • Kansas state certification as a School Psychologist.
    • Experience working in a school setting is preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of psychological principles, assessment tools, and intervention strategies.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
