Description

What does an Outdoor Adventure Activities Manager do?

This position is responsible for managing all aspects and activities of Go Ape's adventure park to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and memorable experience for all our guests. The Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing staff, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and driving revenue growth through effective marketing and customer service. This includes its ropes course, ziplines, and axe throwing activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of a Go Ape location which includes overseeing daily operations , managing staff, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and driving revenue growth.
  • Ensure that all equipment, facilities, and structures are in good working condition and meet safety standards.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise a team of staff to ensure that all guests receive a high level of customer service and have a safe and enjoyable experience.
  • Develop and implement local marketing strategies to drive revenue growth.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance and developing plans to achieve targets.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including financial reports, staff schedules, and safety reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and industry standards and guidelines, including health and safety regulations, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including vendors, contractors, and local park partners.
  • Respond to customer feedback and complaints, taking appropriate action to resolve issues and improve the guest experience.
  • Work collaboratively with other Go Ape Managers and the Operations Department to share best practices and ensure consistency across all Go Ape Locations.

Requirements

What are the qualifications to be an Outdoor Adventure Activities Manager?

  • A passion for outdoor activities and adventure!
  • At least two (2) years of experience in a supervisory or management role, preferably in the recreation, leisure, or hospitality industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with customers, staff, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Familiar with Microsoft office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint.

Additional Requirements

  • At least 18 or older at the time of hire.
  • Ability to meet Go Ape participation requirements.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
  • Willing to fulfill all roles at the job site as necessary, which includes occasionally lifting 50 pounds, working at extreme heights, and exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of hire and complete Go Ape Rescue Training
