We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Associate or Sr Associate (2-4 years experience) who will join a team of consultants in supporting a local agency onsite with audit preperation. The role requires experience with full cycle accounting – AP/AR, cash management, monthly reconciliations, general ledger, financial reporting and offering audit support, and assisting with financial reporting. Experience with ERP systems and adaptability to new in-house systems quickly and efficiently.
As an audit associate, you will execute the client's audit plan and play a crucial role in evaluating and improving internal controls, risk management, and governance processes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in accounting and auditing.

```Responsibilities```
- Conduct internal audits to assess the effectiveness of financial and operational controls
- Review and evaluate compliance with company policies and procedures
- Identify areas of potential risk and develop recommendations for improvement
- Perform testing of internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP, GAAS, SOX, and other relevant regulations
- Prepare audit reports detailing findings, recommendations, and corrective actions
- Collaborate with management to implement recommended changes and monitor progress
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and changes in regulations
```Requirements```
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA or CIA certification preferred
- Experience with full cycle accounting – AP/AR, cash management, monthly reconciliations, general ledger, financial reporting and offering audit support, and assisting with financial reporting. Proven experience in technical accounting, tax, financial auditing, or related areas
- Knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, SOX, and other relevant regulations is a plus
- Experience with ERP systems and adaptability to new in-house systems quickly and efficiently. Familiarity with governmental accounting is a plus
- Proficiency in using accounting software and financial analysis tools
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
