Summary

The Manager, Freight Forwarding Accounting will review, validate, analyze, and confirm revenue and cost, and perform month-end closing for San Diego and Irvine which is related to Freight Forwarding business. In addition, this position will prepare reports and perform analysis, as well as adopt and implement Accounting Systems and other supportive tools.

Responsibilities

• Review, Validate, Analyze, and confirm revenue and cost for San Diego and Irvine offices which is related to FF Business
  • Review and analyze detailed service completion data and verify if revenue and cost are recognized correctly to comply with US GAAP and IFRS
  • Advise GUS operations or other local departments for correct revenue and cost recognition method
  • Review and analyze service activities and verify an unbilled activities. Advise GUS operation or local department to prevent delinquency and improve billing/IT system process
  • Perform data reconciliation between SAP and operational system
  • Confirm and post revenue and cost transaction in SAP
• Month-End Closing
  • Review revenue and cost accruals in YTD (year to date) base for San Diego and Irvine offices which is related to FF business
  • Review previous year revenue and cost posted in current year and manage previous year accrual balance
  • Simulate direct margine and perform P & L analysis before finalizing book and revisit worksheet or SAP data if required
  • Allocate Direct SG&A cost according to location for GUS FF
  • Support Finance management to finalize financial statement in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley, GAAP, IFRS, and Glovis corporate compliance
• Reporting & Analytics
  • Prepare combined P&L analysis monthly, quarterly, and yearly and comparing to business plan
  • Red Folder Analysis- provide P&L analysis for customer/vendor contact updates
  • Preparing Service line Profitability report per each office
  • Support Business Planning
  • Support Management team, GKR, and auditors with various reports or analysis

Compensation Range

$101k- $113k per year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)

Qualifications

Skills & Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills Required
• Proficient PC skills: SAP, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power point Required
• Good accounting knowledge/background Preferred

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree Required
• 7-10 years of experience in Finance or Accounting Required
• 8-13 years of experience in Finance or Accounting Required
• 1 - 3 Years of Supervisory Experience Preferred

• Ability to travel Domestic and International 30% of the time
• Ability to sit in front of a desk and/or in front of the computer for long periods
