Summary

The Analyst, Logistics Planning position will take ownership of data-related projects for internal and external stakeholders. We manage projects end-to-end, from conception and solution building to deployment/implementation and follow through. These projects involve big data treated and analyzed with technical tools such as Power BI, Python, or R. We use this data to deliver improvements to our logistics operation, or support executive-level decision making on urgent or strategic questions. Our projects require stakeholder collaboration and change management, with the end goal of delivering real value.

Responsibilities

• Analysis & Planning Support
  • Leveraging statistical methods and mathematical modeling techniques to conduct analytics and build storytelling presentations on executive-level questions
  • Developing and maintaining modules and dashboards to automate interdepartmental KPI and inventory reports in Power BI, loading/cleaning big data models and building relationships and calculations across datasets
  • Collaborating with stakeholders in auto processing and vehicle logistics to produce and maintain end-to-end BI and analytics models toward company KPI management and operations support
• Optimization Initiatives
  • Assisting in technical and industrial engineering-based optimization initiatives
  • Ad hoc reporting and Power BI development initiated by other departments
• Fieldwork Reports & Communications
  • Business travel to assist in fieldwork to gather facility parts/vehicle inventory, conduct time studies, and hold interviews with facility managers/personnel
  • Documenting and flowcharting processes tied to facility and transportation operations
  • Communications with external vendors
• Other Duties as Assigned

Compensation Range

• $48,000 - $55,000 per year

Qualifications

Skills

• Rudimentary knowledge and interest of supply chain logistics or finished vehicle logistics
• Prior student or internship experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) or strong background with the Office Suite
• Prior student or internship experience with end-to-end analytics via Power BI or statistical programming: planning, design, visualization, maintenance, and stakeholder communication
• Prior student or internship experience collaborating with stakeholders in a customer/end user-focused project, or change management project in any field
• Coursework or professional/project experience with any top programming language: Python, C , C#, Java, R, etc.
• Proficiency in one of the following quantitative areas: predictive analytics, machine learning methods, combinatorial algorithms, mathematical optimization preferred
• Previous professional experience in BI development (Power BI, Tableau) preferred
• Previous database management, querying (SQL), or ETL experience preferred

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or related quantitative field or Business Economics required
• 1 - 2years of relevant experience required
• Experience in Power BI Development, Data Science and Analytics, Supply Chain, and/or Optimization preferred
• Certificates and/or Training in Excel, Intermediate Programming, and Introductory BI preferred

• Ability to sit in front of a desk and/or in front of the computer for long periods of time
