Responsibilities

GLOTECH, Inc. is seeking a mid-level Developer to join our team in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Developer will apply cutting edge advances to align with the needs of the business. As a Software Engineer with the Glotech DoD Team, you’ll be expected to solve complex technical problems within our PostgreSQL/Java/React stack, work with our DoD users, and mentor junior engineers.

We work on the DoD PlatformONE (P1) cloud, so DevSecOps is practiced - and enforced by the P1 Mission DevOps (MDO) team. You will be working with our team of designers, managers, and engineers on the Puckboard Suite of applications. Puckboard is a training scheduling application built in collaboration with the Air Force, designed to give time back to aircrew. As a Software Engineer you will:

• Own the engineering solution, from concept to implementation and beyond for a given story/task
• Contribute to the design, development, validation, deployment of such tasks
• Identify customer MVPs for new features
• Make technical trade-off decisions and provide recommendations on the best options
• Contribute to incident resolution and facilitation of cross functional troubleshooting and root cause analysis of difficult technical problems
• Participate in code and design reviews.
• Make decisions that align with sprint goals and/or product lead’s intent
• Communicate with key stakeholders ensuring business goals and visions are met
• Be part of a cross-functional product team that respects, supports, and pushes for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or similar technical field of study or work experience.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant coding experience in Java and/or C# or other OOP language
• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience using web development frameworks
• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience using relational databases
• US Citizen (must be able to obtain a secret level security clearance)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active secret security clearance
• Prior DOD experience
• Passion for learning new languages and design patterns
• Demonstrated ability to drive and articulate technical challenges and solutions
• Experience collaborating with customers, UX, and non-technical partners
• Familiarity with working in an Agile environment
