Picking Lead

This position is responsible for directing and coordinating all order picking tasks as well as other warehouse processes related to picking and order fulfillment. The Picking Lead will support the Warehouse Manager and is expected to lead an effective operation through leading the picking staff.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Inspect all incoming Pick Tickets/Orders.
• Order processing (accurately picking, confirming, and packaging both internal and external orders).
• Training new employees on company and departmental procedures as appropriate.
• Lead a small group of associates within an area to execute standard jobs within the warehouse; from transferring inventory to fulfilling customer orders.
• Measuring and ensuring all safety, productivity, and quality standards are met.
• Setting and ensuring all daily/weekly goals are met for order picking.
• Supporting other departments within the warehouse as necessary, including unloading trucks by hand and with the use of material handling equipment, accurately breaking down and stocking products in accordance with the company’s standards and procedures.
• Assist inventory team with keeping warehouse isles stocked, clean and organized.
• Assist with moving materials, boxes, etc. to areas as needed.
• Assist with the development, revision, and enforcement of picking procedures for the warehouse including record keeping of checked out items and other standard operational work practices.
• Makes recommendations on warehouse improvement and drive improvement initiatives.
• Report any safety or maintenance concerns to management immediately.
• Overtime required when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Educational Background:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience and Skills:

· Must have high attention to detail

· Must be proficient in GSuite (Sheets, Docs)

· Must have good attention to detail with good organizational skills

· Must be able to work as a part of a team with good cooperation/collaboration skills

· Must be able to read and follow instructions

· Good basic math skills are required

· Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

· Ability to climb stairs and ladders, ability to stand, sit, bend, stoop, kneel and walk for lengthy periods of time

· Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen

Pay: $18.00 per hour
