Glock is Hiring a LEAD ASSEMBLER - 2ND SHIFT Near Smyrna, GA

General Purpose:Oversee the assembly line process according to work instructions and standard work by performing the following duties Shift(s):2nd Shift (1:30 PM to 9:30 PM) Monday through Friday Supervisory Responsibilities:None Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned): Maintain a high level of safety and cleanliness in the Assembly area.Drive leadership, quality and productivity with their team members on their respective assembly line, by motivating and influencing their assemblers, inspecting their work and creating the most efficient line set up for production flow. Ensure that the documentation is correct including quantities and other records including previous operations.Perform visual inspections to identify issues as early in the assembly process as possible. Assure each assembler is trained on procedures and visual/functional inspections.Book each production orders once the assembly process is completeCommunicate with shift supervisor and/or leads of potential issues that could affect product quality and/or safety including equipment and product issues.Utilizing the zero defects methods and principals, log all errors cause or found on the assembly lineCommunicate with other leads and assemblers at shift change to exchange relevant information that helps prevent mistakes or expedite assembly processes.Report daily assembly line KPIs such as output and downtime to the shift supervisor daily.Flexible work schedule.Must be present in regular attendance.Setting up the assembly line for current and upcoming orders with small parts, slides, barrels and frames.Making sure that the correct gauges and control checks are being used for testing.Restocking all small parts on the assembly line.Adjusting equipment such as frame pin presses, grease machines and all fixtures at the beginning of each new order.Performing hourly assembly line inspections to ensure all procedures are being followed.Maintain knowledge of QC requirements and procedures to ensure proper disposition of nonconforming parts.Assisting assembly lines to meet their required daily, weekly, and monthly goals.Supports all LEAN activities in the assembly area, especially the sustainable execution and implementation of 5S principles (order and cleanliness) and continuous process improvement (stable processes) based on KAIZEN principles to achieve highest quality standardsEnsures compliance with legal- and company ordinances in his/her areas of responsibilityEnsures compliance to ISO-, OSHA- and Environmental Protection regulatory and ensures highest safety standards in his/her area of responsibilityKeeps his/her standard of knowledge up to date in his/her area of responsibility through continuing education measuresExercise good judgment/discretion Must pay close attention to details.Needs to be able to work independently and as part of a team.Willingness and open minded to learn new procedural methods to improve production quality and efficiency. Qualifications/Job Requirements:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
