Globus Medical is Hiring a Staff Software Engineer Near Methuen, MA
Position SummaryThe Staff Software Engineer will be working on an exciting new Robotics product development project in our Enabling Technology division. This person needs to have strong architectural and technical skills in software engineering and be comfortable as a technical lead for a small group of software engineers on the project. The position will be hands-on with the individual capable of creative and systematic product development with minimum supervision. Close collaboration with the other software and electromechanical engineers on the project will be critical for success.
Essential Functions
- Contributes to software design, testing, and documentation
- Develops prototypes in addition to production-quality solutions
- Creates new solutions from the ground up and takes over the development and sustaining of existing software solutions
- Ensures efficient performance and scalability of solutions
- Demonstrates a passion for software development, software craftsmanship, and test-driven development
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
- Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies
- Ensures compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role
- Represents the company in a professional manner and upholding the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties of Globus
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or related technical field of study) and a minimum of 8 years of industry experience in software development or with a Master’s Degree with 5 years
- Experience in object-oriented analysis and design
- Experience programming in C in a multi-threaded environment. Experience in Rust is a plus
- Experience developing software tools, utilities, and libraries/components
- Experience in kinematics or control algorithms is a plus
- Experience in UI development is a plus
- Experience supporting a released product and assisting field support team is a plus
- Ability to work on sizeable individual efforts and teams using agile methodologies
- Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
- Ability to attend labs/surgeries
- Excellent oral, written, and graphical communication skills
