Job SummaryWe are seeking a licensed part-time per diem Mental Health Therapist to join our team! In this role, you will diagnose and treat psychological disorders, assist patients in addressing dysfunctional behaviors, and guide them through crises. This position is a Mon-Fri or Sat. The schedule is flexible, and the Therapists will report directly to the Clinical Supervisor. Responsibilities
Provide telehealth therapeutic counseling to adults and at least one day in the office face to face sessions.
Provide culturally responsive (trauma informed and social justice lens) comprehensive assessments and develop quarterly service plans for individuals and families.
Responsible for all required OMH and clinical documentation and communication with clients.
Provide minor social services.
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team including but limited to GTR’s international staff, outreach workers, health educators, etc.
Opportunity to develop and facilitate groups designed to meet the needs of clients.
Monitor client’s treatment and comply with all required documentation in a timely manner.
Ensure continuity of services for clients and collaborate with other social service agencies to provide wraparound services for clients.
Opportunity to train community leaders in mental health facilitation.
Special projects as required.
Qualifications
Licensed: LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or equivalent by the state of New York.
Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling or related field.
At least two years post-master’s experience.
Multicultural competence and training, including but not limited to critical race theory.
Specialty and training in psychological trauma and PTSD.
Willing to go through extensive training in trauma and multicultural competence.
Excellent writing skills, and ability to submit documentation on a set timeline.
Proficient computer skills (ability to utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; and electronic submission of treatment plans).
Thorough understanding of DSM-V-TR mental health diagnoses and treatment approaches for adults.
Evidence-Based Practice model of treatment (i.e. MI, CBT, TF-CBT, EMDR, etc.).
