MISSION

Global Preparatory Academy develops compassionate global leaders through a rigorous education program that focuses on hands-on, cultural and Spanish immersion learning opportunities.


SUMMARY

Global Prep Academy, a dual language school that connects students from diverse linguistic backgrounds and educates them together in a highly rigorous, engaging and nurturing environment. Using both English and Spanish to instruct students in all core content areas, students will develop high levels of bilingualism and biliteracy, as well as a deep value and understanding of other cultures. As citizens in a global world, students at Global Prep gain limitless access to other cultures through bilingualism and instruction, which emphasizes critical thinking using global perspectives and experiential learning.

We are currently hiring a Career Pathways teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. Global Prep teachers are highly energetic, self-motivated leaders who are committed to educating ethnic and linguistically diverse students.

Reports to:
Middle School Principal


Job Objective:
Coordinates Career Pathways Curriculum and Instruction for students at Global Prep Academy Middle School. This is a part-time position. The other half of the day the Pathways teacher will be teaching core content in the middle school.


Essential Functions:

  • Maintains open/effective communications. Uses problem-solving techniques to tactfully address questions/concerns.
  • Facilitates opportunities for students to participate in an inclusive career-focused educational program.
  • Promotes the proper care and use of school property. Ensures that all materials are stored properly.
  • Respects personal privacy. Maintains the confidentiality of privileged information.
  • Upholds the student conduct code.
  • Take precautions to ensure safety. Watch for conduct and situations that may indicate a problem. Works with supervisors to manage or eliminate risk factors.
  • Reports suspected child abuse and/or neglect to civil authorities as required by law.
  • Participates in staff meetings, conferences, and other required school activities.
  • Pursues growth opportunities that enhance professional performance and advance corporation goals.
  • Strives to develop rapport with colleagues and serves as a positive role model for others.
  • Maintains a professional appearance. Wears work attire appropriate for the position.

Staff Support/Facilitation

  • Helps parents/students understand program objectives and performance standards.
  • Consults with support personnel and families to address student concerns (e.g., academic difficulties, excessive absences, behavior/mental/physical health, family/peer relations, etc.).
  • Creates/uses a variety of formal/informal progress monitoring assessments to determine student progress/goals/needs
  • Assists in the completion of student assessments as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid state department of education license/certificate in the state of Indiana.
  • Meets all mandated health requirements.
  • A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
  • Complies with drug-free workplace rules and board policies.
  • Demonstrates mastery of instructional skills required to provide instruction to students.


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Valid Indiana Teachers License
  • At least 2 years of teaching experience
