Global Montessori Academy is currently seeking summer session assistant teachers in an elementary mixed age (7-11 years) classroom of up to 22 children and in primary mixed age (3-6 year) classrooms of up to 22 children.

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), non-exempt (hourly) position. The hours are 8:30-5:30 with a 1 hour break. There is a possibility that a permanent position as a floating teacher would open beginning in August as well.

All classrooms at Global Montessori Academy have one guide (lead) and one assistant teacher. We believe in a holistic, child centered environment where teachers are guides and children are allowed and encouraged to 'do it themselves.'

Applicants must:

• have a strong desire to work with young children and an amicable personality
• be energetic and able to work in an environment with a high level of activity
• be reliable and adaptable
• be able to bend or stoop to help children with various tasks numerous times a day
• be able to stand for long periods of time
• successfully pass a background check
