IMMEDIATE OPENING 

Medical Billing – Revenue Cycle – Money Processor - Paper 

Work Location: West Plains Revenue Cycle Office

Pay: $17.00 per hour 

JOB SUMMARY  

The Mail Processing rep works within the Posting and Processing Team to ensure the incoming payment received via paper (checks, cash, money orders, etc.) is appropriately reviewed and assigned to the applicable account and that said funds are applicably prepared for posting via the cash posting team.

HOURS/WORK SCHEDULE 

• Monday through Friday – full time in office approximately 8 hours day currently scheduled from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with some flexibility as well as opportunity for overtime on a business need basis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES  

• Meets daily and monthly departmental production goals set forth by the leadership to ensure that the company is achieving its financial goals 

• Review system generated work list and aged reports to resolve outstanding held items / funds in the appropriate time frame

• Makes inquiries via telephone, mail, and fax or electronically through payer website or e-mail for follow up of for additional information when necessary to push received funds through posting processes

• Examines the patient record and/or researches all avenues to gather information

• Supports process improvements to assure quality and timely documentation 

• Follows processes, makes necessary contacts or takes necessary steps to assure accurate processing and preparing of funds received 

• Works closely with all billing and support service groups 

• Reads and understands Explanations of Benefits 

• Reports to leadership on language in remittances for guidance

• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS  

Required Experience:

• 6 months data entry experience with an emphasis on 10-key use

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word

• Proficient in basic computer commands such as Copy, Cut, Paste, Select All

Preferred Experience:  

• 6 months working in a mail room setting

• Experience with Respond Billing / Sweet

• Experience with SharePoint

• Proficient in keyboard hot keys (e.g. Ctrl C to Copy)

Education:  

• High school diploma or equivalent

Skills:  

• Ability to type efficiently with an emphasis on 10-key use

• Ability to apply data entry steps accurately

• Critical thinking skills with the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
