Brief Description of the Work:
Global InfoTek, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Platform Engineer to join our elite team. As a Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the core platform infrastructure and services that support our enterprise-level systems. You will develop and connect software components to realize the overall system. Your expertise will contribute to the reliability, scalability, and security of our platforms, ensuring seamless operations and efficient utilization of resources. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud-native architectures, infrastructure automation, and a wide range of platform technologies. As a key member of the Joint Cyber Warfighting Architecture’s (JCWA), Unified Platform Data Intelligence (UPDI) Team you will be part of an integrated team consisting of DevSecOps Engineers, Release Engineers, and Platform Architects/Engineers.
You will provide the management, process, oversight, and ongoing support of multiple platforms and network environments that include both the hardware and software and some applications support functions. Partnering with the enterprise stakeholders, you will provide support to IT and development teams to chart a service delivery roadmap, manage deliverables, etc.
You will bring a demonstrated track record of success leading platform IT services in a large enterprise setting as well as critical skills in developing partnerships, modeling behaviors, and improving team capabilities and leading in a fluid and rapidly changing environment.
Required Skills:
- Active TS/SCI clearance with extensive experience in DevSecOps environments
- Experience in IL2/IL4 environments with Common Access Card (CAC)
- Extensive experience designing and implementing cloud-native architectures, including microservices, containerization, and serverless computing
- Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code principles and tools, such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, including services like EC2, S3, VPC, and IAM
- Expertise in container orchestration platforms, such as Kubernetes, and containerization technologies like Docker
- Thorough knowledge of networking and security principles in cloud environments, including VPCs, security groups, and identity management
- Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability tools, such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or Datadog
- Experience with scalable agile frameworks, such as Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or Large-Scale Scrum (LeSS)
- As part of the Infrastructure Support Element, you will provide support to software and data support elements, including integration services. Respond to priority issues impacting service levels
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, the Data and Software support elements, and infrastructure support element, to solicit requirements, design, build and automate the provisioning of platform services to support the software development lifecycle.
- Communicate with UPDI stakeholders and/or leadership on infrastructure support element progress, and present recommendations and solutions to resolve or mitigate technical challenges
- Collaboratively with DevSecOps team members, provide planning, architecture, design, and implementation support for implementation of both the DoD’s DevSecOps Reference Design Requirements and DoDI’s 5000.87 Operation of the Software Acquisition Pathway.
- Strong scripting and automation skills, using languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Leverage technological innovations and industry best practices such as ITIL to provide solutions that contribute to increased IT operational efficiency.
- Deep understanding of DevOps and CI/CD practices, with hands-on experience in tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI
- Ability to troubleshoot complex platform issues and optimize system performance and reliability

Kubernetes-related certifications (e.g., Certified Kubernetes Administrator - CKA, Certified Kubernetes Application Developer - CKAD) preferred, within 6 months of award
- ITIL v3 or higher (or within 6 months of hire)
- Cloud platform certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional or Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- DevOps-related certifications, such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or DevOps Institute certifications (e.g., DevOps Foundation, DevSecOps Engineer)
Professional Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience as a Platform Engineer or similar role in large-scale enterprise environments
- Proven track record of architecting and implementing complex and scalable platform infrastructures
- Expertise in designing highly available and fault-tolerant systems with a focus on performance and security
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to lead and drive platform initiatives
- Experience working in agile environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Continuous learning mindset, keeping up with the latest advancements and best practices in platform engineering and cloud technologies
