About Global Impact STEM Academy:

Global Impact STEM Academy (GISA) is an independent STEM school established in 2013, operating under Ohio Revised Code. GISA's educational focus revolves around the agriculture industry, with an emphasis on biotechnology, food, fiber, energy, and the environment. Embedded within the curriculum are key engineering principles, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of STEM disciplines. GISA has fostered a unique partnership with Clark State College, enabling students to access early college programs.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate educator to join our team as a High School Mathematics Instructor at our STEM school. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Integrated Mathematics, along with a commitment to inspiring and engaging students in STEM disciplines.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with the school's programing and state standards, emphasizing hands-on learning experiences and inquiry-based instruction.

- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel motivated to explore concepts in physical science and chemistry through experimentation, discussion, and critical thinking.

- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, resources, and technologies to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom.

- Assess student understanding through formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback to support student growth and achievement.

- Foster collaboration and communication skills among students through group work, projects, and laboratory investigations.

- Integrate real-world applications and interdisciplinary connections to demonstrate the relevance of physical science and chemistry concepts in everyday life and future career pathways.

- Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum, share best practices, and participate in professional development opportunities to continuously enhance instructional effectiveness.

- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behavior, and communicate regularly with students, parents, and administrators regarding student performance and classroom activities.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

- Record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment via BCI and FBI background check.

- Valid Ohio teaching certification/license in Mathematics (Integrated Mathematics) or the ability to obtain certification within the first year of employment.

- Prior teaching experience at the high school level, particularly in STEM-focused or inquiry-based learning environments, is highly desirable.

- Strong content knowledge and enthusiasm for mathematical concepts, with the ability to convey complex ideas in an accessible and engaging manner.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with a commitment to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment for all students.

- Demonstrated experience in emerging STEM disciplines and be knowledgeable of current trends, best practices, and innovations in STEM education, including national model standards in STEM education.

COMPENSATION: Compensation is based on salary range. Consideration will be given to level of education and experience.
