Global is seeking a skilled and experienced Manager of Data Engineering to lead our Data Engineering team, under the leadership of our Chief Data Officer. This role involves spearheading the design, development, and ongoing enhancement of our enterprise data platform.

Responsibilities:

• Quickly gain a comprehensive understanding of Global’s data landscape and architectural framework.
• Lead and manage a team of data engineers to design, develop, and maintain cloud-based, scalable data pipelines and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, and product managers to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
• Spearhead ‘Data as a Product’ initiatives, designing data solutions that meet the needs of both internal and external clients, focusing on delivering actionable insights and value.
• Develop and enforce best practices for data engineering, including data modeling, ETL processes, data governance and data quality assurance.
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of data governance policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, integrity, security, and compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in data engineering and analytics and make recommendations as appropriate.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
• Manage project timelines, resources, and priorities to ensure timely delivery of data solutions.
• Utilize agile methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices to accelerate development cycles and improve responsiveness to business needs.
• Manage cloud resources and infrastructure costs effectively, ensuring optimal performance and cost efficiency.
• Serve as subject matter expert on data engineering topics, providing guidance and support to internal stakeholders as needed.

Required Skills:

• Strong understanding of data architecture principles and modern ETL methodologies.
• Experience working with cloud Data Warehouse technologies (e.g. Snowflake, Azure, etc.).
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational database systems.
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, etc.).
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Experience implementing data governance frameworks and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• A passion for data-driven decision-making and a commitment to delivering high-quality data solutions that drive business value.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with designing and implementing data pipelines leveraging Azure Data Factory.
• Understanding of Snowflake’s data warehousing architecture and its capabilities.
• Experience in developing data warehouses optimized for advanced analytics and reporting.

Qualifications:

• 5-8 years of experience developing and maintaining data warehousing systems, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Position will be physically located in Tulsa, Phoenix or Dallas.
