The incumbent is responsible for the daily functioning of a portfolio of short term, domestic and international travel and event security projects. These projects may include travel security, residential security, executive protection, event security and vendor management. The Manager will determine the technological, administrative, manpower and material support needed to ensure the delivery of Global Guardian’s best-in-class security services. The ideal candidate will manage projects, lead and direct vendors and develop and maintain strong relationships with customers. The position will be based in the SF Bay Area (CA) and will report to the Director of Domestic Operations in Virginia. The position is currently a work from home position, but employee must be within a 1-hour drive of client in Silicon Valley. Relocation will not be covered.Responsibilities
  • Recruiting, training, and supervising security personnel.
  • Training, developing, and motivating supervisory staff to effectively oversee all day-to-day operations of the project security personnel.
  • Overseeing the employee on-boarding process including new hire interviewing, selection of candidates, training and licensure and new hire paperwork.
  • Training subordinate supervisors on scheduling, procedural guidelines, and company policies and enforcing consistency in policy practice.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources, ensuring project/missions remain within scope, schedule, and defined budgets. When adjustments are necessary, ensure awareness and approval by clients, vendors, and Global Guardian management.
  • Establish and maintain processes to manage project/mission quality and performance standards, and assess and manage risk within, and across, multiple missions.
  • Report project/mission outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels as needed; escalating issues as necessary to company and clients with remedial ramifications.
  • Generate Quarterly Reports that provide an overview of Services performance, areas of success, areas for improvement, and overall risks for the next quarter
  • Managing the budgets of various projects and monitoring expenses. Evaluating site requests for security support and or supplies.
  • Coordinating operational functions including payroll and billing, staffing, scheduling, and personnel issues.
  • Carrying out site risk assessment visits and audits in accordance with Global Guardian policies.
  • Coordinate with Executive Protection employees, security vendors, consultants, and contractors across the United States to ensure adherence to contractual agreements and, if necessary, modify existing agreements.
  • Coordinating with the Director of Domestic Operations and Vice President of Operations to establish regional goals and objectives and communicate these with management staff.
  • Working with sales and marketing to identify and develop new business opportunities.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Must have private security management experience.
  • Operational knowledge of the security mission management process and requirements to establish and plan security or executive protection missions.
  • Worked security missions or acted as in executive protection agent (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four (4) year college or university is preferred.
  • 5 or more years of related management and leadership in the security industry, law enforcement or military.
  • Experience in formulating and managing budgets.
  • Experience directing and managing security vendors
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and time management skills.
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office products.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Ability to travel and regularly visit all site locations in the Western United States.
  • May perform other duties as assigned by Management and in coordination with the Director of Domestic Operations.
Salary Range$140,000-$150,000Working ConditionsWith reasonable accommodation, the position requires the physical and mental capacity to effectively perform all essential functions. In addition to other demands, the demands of the job include:

  • On occasion, may be required to perform stressful and physical activity
  • Domestic travel
  • 24/7 availability to the client while on a task
